i at least hope they have a decency of contacting all the people affected or emailing them as soon as possible if it was those kinds of files that were damaged, instead of leaving us waiting with no idea of whats going on, and then months from now informing us that we have to start over because they have lost our papers. :bonk:

If we have to re-send our papers again, we will not pay any fee this time, so crazy!

Greetings,

I am on hold waiting for a tier 2 rep at USCIS. I asked the rep if it was true files were destroyed, and he said "Some files were, where did you learn that information" as if I wasn't supposed to know.

OMG

I called and the tier 2 officer told me my file should have been digitized by now and not to worry.

Why would visa petitions be kept anywhere that they could be destroyed by water? It makes absolutely no sense to me. There is not one file in my office building that could be destroyed by water from a plumbing issue. Ridiculous.

I suspect from a fire supression system.

1 Corinthians 13:4

Love has long patience, is kind; love is not emulous [of others]; love is

not insolent and rash, is not puffed up,

5 does not behave in an unseemly manner, does not seek what is its own,

is not quickly provoked, does not impute evil,

6 does not rejoice at iniquity but rejoices with the truth,

7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

8 Love never fails;

that is truth :)

I agree but I love my fiance not the government!!

How did you answer to that question?

I discussed this with my lawyer last night and he informed me that all files are scanned and digitized at the time they process your NOA1. I'm not buying that this flood has caused any real delays. CSC has been stagnant with our cases since late October and instead of providing honest answers they have gone on a misinformation campaign.

We met: 4/11/2012

NOA1 Date: 8/3/2012

NOA2 Date: 4/24/2013

Yes, the flood was a week ago. The delay was since last year. Coincidence? No.

Both senators have been emailed. If I hear nothing within the next week. I'm going to write a personal letter and blog post to Obama. On the plus side, it's nice to know that the high school dropouts of this country are still given a chance to work and make a living for themselves.

HEY EVERYONE GUESS WHAT!!!!!

MY CONGRESSIONAL OFFICE CALLED CSC TODAY AND THEY SAID NO THERE ARE NO FILES DAMAGED! THERE WAS SOME COMPUTER HARDWARE BUT NOTHING TO CAUSE FURTHER DELAY!

FURTHERMORE, THE LIASON SAID I AM ELIGIBLE FOR PROCESSING!!!!!!! THEY ARE GOING TO CONTACT ME SOON AS IT IS COMPLETE!!!!!!!!!!

THANK YOU SENATORS OFFICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I AM PASTING BELOW THE REPLY!!!! I AM SO HAPPY!

ROMANS 8:28!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I spoke with my congressional unit and no files in CA were destroyed. That information was not correct. The building was closed for two days. None of the I-129F’s were affected. There were some I-130 (Spousal/Child) petitions that got wet – but again, not destroyed. They did lose some computer hardware but they are still up and running.

My liaison stated that you are eligible for processing based on your submittal date. He is going to pull your file and process it. I know that you are very anxious to have your fiancé here in the US. My liaison will call me when it is complete.

Have a great day. C.

I'm glad you have a congressional representative who cares about your case. I wish I was so lucky. :-/ Mine seems set on just being part of the misinformation of USCIS. Hopefully you hear something soon.

I figured they had to have an electronic copy somewhere. I filed and received my NOA1 on July 26. My fiance came to visit me in September, and they pulled him aside in customs and questioned him about his visit, the petition, etc. He didn't pay much attention to the papers they had with them, but he said it looked like some of the paperwork that we submitted for the petition.

Every time I call CSC I get stories from different reps that counteract. I'm sure if other ppl started to call and ask we all would get different stories no matter what tier I talk too. I remember calling and freaking out about other things then I would call back and get assured about different things, then I would call back and get something else again. I mean if they really did get damaged papers they r probably going to try to sort what it clean and find names that r able to read and contact them...they can't just throw them out Nd forget about us! Haha..but then again....if the papers r really that messed up they r gonna have a hard time knowing who's papers r messed up. I'm curious if the paper r damaged how they r gonna go about fixing this...but hey anyone whose paper gets messed up should definatly get expedited after that and faster then if they didn't get damaged!

On another note I'm sure they copy all the papers they receive.

Just breathe deep and relax that is all you can do. I know it sucks, but whether you wait 1 week or 1 year it is too much. I wish you all the best and hope your wait is over soon, unfortunately there is no one person to blame it is just the way it is right now.
