I am on hold waiting for a tier 2 rep at USCIS. I asked the rep if it was true files were destroyed, and he said "Some files were, where did you learn that information" as if I wasn't supposed to know.

Honestly, I don't know what to believe anymore. Why can't they just make a public announcement of what is really going on with them?.

I am sure he will but you can wait up to 2 hours to get to speak to a tier 2 person. Patience required in large amounts right now.

I hope we here something soon about this. There is nothing on the USCIS website about it yet but I guess no announcement would be made untill they know the exact extent of the problem.

I have had to do so many paperwork things twice (not all visa connected) that nobody will believe me if I say I have had to resend the paperwork for the I-129F again

Based on the post from yesterday, speculations are all we have on who was affected. It looks like since CSC is stuck on July for 4 months, that July/August may be the affected files. Dang, but 48,000 that is a lot of petitions/applications. It might be from all categories, not just K-1.
