My fiancee is not working at present, and I have sent some money to her a few times. Is that good to include as some proof of an ongoing relationship? Would it be advisable to include with the phone records etc.? Thanks in advance...

Hi

Yes, keep all money transfer receipts and include them to proof your on going relationship. I have submitted all money transfer receipts starting from year 2009 to 2012 in my CR1 VISA Petition .yes, you can submit them with the phone records but clearly mention on the cover page " money transfer receipts" and other cover page "phone records".

Actually it can go both ways . There have been cases where the money has been declared evidence of "paying" ( or being paid for immigrating) for your spouse depending on which way the money has been travelling. It is better if money is kept to siognificant events ( birthdays and Christmas ) usually. Check you embassy reviews carefully to see if anyone has had issues.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

My Fiancee is the one receiving the money, and also the beneficiary of the visa we hope to be given. Do you still think it would not benefit our case? Thanks again

It really depends on the consulate. Some consulates seem to have issues with money transfers ("paying" the other person), other consulates accept money transfers as good proof of an ongoing relationship. I agree with NigeriaorBust, check back with people who have gone through the same consulate as you.

It is a two-edged sword, take a look at this similar-themed parallel thread for more comments:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/422542-money-remittance/

Though the situation noted in the thread is the other way around, there are still some enlightening comments to ponder.

IMO, I would refrain from discussing money transfers as you describe, it may look like you are supporting a family to an interviewing consulate officer.

Good luck.

Sending money can be seen as buying the visa or GC. It is usually not recommended to include that.

that would be if beneficiary is sending money to us petitioner, kinda hard to buy a visa if you are the one receiving money :)

actually it can look like the petitioner is buying a "mail order bride" think about it...when has money ever been considered a measuring stick for emotional involvement? it looks bad...proof of ongoing relationship is text messages, phone logs, emails, letters etc

I sent money to my fiancee because her son was (and still is) in the hospital with meningitis, and the hospital bills are too much for her to handle on her own. I'm planning to send in proof of that. Would something like that even be taken the wrong way?

YMMV

Of course I am supporting her family. I will be part of her family when we are married, and it only makes sense that I would support them.

What on earth could my sending money to pay the hospital bills show other than a valid familial relationship?

I know in some countries and some relationships, the embassy is concerned that the petitioner and beneficiary are blood-related, but in our case, it is very obvious that we are not related.

What would Xenu do?

I wouldn't include any money remittances/transfers receipts with the K-1 petition. As others have mentioned, it is really consulate specific on how it might reflect on the image of the couple. For example, Manila,Philippines is one consulate that actually suggests remittances as a form of ongoing relationship evidence to bring to the interview. This was listed in the interview instructions. We did bring the receipts, but it was never asked for. It isn't necessary for the petition, and I didn't include it. IMO, it is one form of evidence that should be held onto until asked for.
