Good god, I just woke up an hour before I was planning on getting up and out of routine (glad that that's over now) checked the case status for our petition - we got approved yesterday! Called my fiancé right away, he hadn't received an email or text notification yet…we're both so super happy! I know what it feels like now, I'm shaking with joy and my heart is still racing :) Maybe I'll even be able to make it over there in time for our planned wedding in June :D

Yes, we had two congressional inquiries made. The first one was made by Senator Durbin's office about a month ago - they only told us that there is a backlog blabla they're working on cases filed July 18th and prior… The second inquiry was made by Congressman Lipinski's office. The lady there told CSC to pull our case and process it two weeks ago, last Tuesday she forwarded a message from USCIS to us saying that our case was in transit to an adjudications officer. Last Friday we called USCIS directly and the lady on the phone told us that the background checks shouldn't be taking this long because I'm from Germany and everything is computerized. She gave us a receipt number (I guess we sort of made a service request without knowing it) and told us to call back this Friday (so tomorrow) if there's no progress until then. So glad we didn't have to call them again…it seems like getting congressional help actually worked for us.

Big congrats!!! and good luck on the rest of your journey. I bet you can make it to June.

I'm so happy to hear good news from CSC!

Thanks! I really hope you're right :)
