So maybe I should have thought about this sooner but what do your fiancées do all day? Like I realize some work but what about the ones that don't? I've always dated girls with jobs but don't want that for a wife. So I'm trying to figure out how my fiancé won't be bored out of her mind when I'm out working. The house can only be so clean... I do have some stuff she can make money on the Internet with but other than that I can't figure it out. I realize house wives somehow stay busy but with what? I can clean the house in a couple hours so even if that is done everyday there is still a lot of time. I feel like my credit card is going to get hit with shopping like every other girl in my family. Maybe like sewing or somethin?

You should probably talk to her about it. Is she ok with the idea of staying home and not working? That is her decision to make. I feel that cooking, cleaning and other chores have to be shared. You both live together, you are a team. Let her figure out what she wants, but be supportive, don't tell her what to do. Also, ask her what she likes to do, if she has any hobby do some research about fun activities in your area so she has something to do while adjusting to her new life.

I wish you the best of luck!

Your fiancee won't be able to work until you two are married and and you get your AOS packet and obtain your EAD. This can take up to 6-9+ months depending on how soon/late you get married and gather the needed items for your packet for AOS. In the meantime get TFC/GMA for the house, have a couple of babies, that would keep her busy for the next 18+ years or so ;) Other than that talk with her and see what she may be into. The transition is harder for some than others when coming stateside. Find some other filipino friends and get her involved with the local fil-am community. Find the closest Ross/Marshall/TJ Maxx's, teach her about coupon clipping and stores that have clearance racks and build some balikbayan boxes.

As mentioned your fiancee, soon to be wife, can not work until you file for AOS and the EAD, the EAD will arrive about 3-4 months after applying (it was 3 months with my wife, but then her green card arrived in 4 months so the EAD was of little value... )

There can be some long days, house work, re-arranging furniture, relocating things and puttering about the yard can only fill so much time, expect that she will be bored and might get cranky after awhile until things improve.

Can she Skype to family back in the Phils? I setup an OBI in the Phils so that family can call my wife anytime they choose (of course there is the learning the time difference issue  ) and she can call there also from anywhere we are and from any phone all free.

You should have craft books in the home, and the supplies and tools and workspace necessary.

Have her learn this trade, the making of crafts,

then you go in, one weekend a month, to the local flea market and sell them.

Good Luck !

"Honey, now that we've been engaged for quite a while, and we've been through this long the visa process, and you're leaving everything behind and flying halfway around the world to marry me and live in this foreign land, what do you want to do with your life?

While I work in the morning, Mike watches American shows, then TFC (The Filipino Channel) and then drives the bike around the city. When I get home, we get to walk around the block for 1.5 hours, just talk and bond. Some days, I ask him to help me out in the kitchen and learn to cook American dishes. We seems to argue when it comes to Filipino dishes (he sometimes forget that I'm a Filipino by birth) so I avoid that LOL Also he keeps himself busy with Farmville and Texas Holdem too

Wow. This is a person that you're talking about, a thinking, feeling human being, an adult, your equal. You seem to have confused her for a pet? Is this a real post or a troll?!?

it makes a person a troll because they have different views form you. maybe a better question is does the fiancee want and will be happy as a housewife...

I must have missed the part where you recommended that he ask his fiancée what she wants to do.

Can't miss what wasn't there ! ;)
