I-864 income question

Can someone please give me some input on this,I'm kinda freakin out with this I-864. First let me give you a little bit of a background.

1. I need an Income of 23,800 to cover for 125%poverty line for household of 3

2. My annual estimated income from work is 23,500 annually so obviously im short, BUT

with all the overtime work hours throughout the year, for the past 2 years I have been earning upto $25,000.00.

3. My 2012 tax filed is $24,800 and for 2011 it was $25,200.00

Now for my question, Im submitting a copy of my paystub starting from Jan-March and its not stating in the paystub how much my annual income estimate.. would they based it on the gross income(after tax)? so far we dont have much of overtime work so the paycheck is not showing much, but not till later in the year when we gets lots of overtime and we make extra money. Im not planning to have a co-sponsor. I do have a savings account but not much only a bit less than $4000 just for rainy day.

Does anyone out there has any input on this please :help:

for me i think you made enough money to sponsor her. beside if you are short you just need to X5 your short.

for example if you are short for $500 them you should x5 that:

$500 x 5 = $ 2500

means you should atleat have $2500 total savings or property such as car (but u have to have atleast 2 cars to use your car as an asset).

anyhow in your case u had enough asset to cover up your short. but make sure to include that bank statement or letter from the bank.

goodluck!!!!

The longer it takes to happen the more you'll appreciate it when it does!

Only need 3 times assets for a spouse.

OP> It is gross income, before taxes. List your current income including how much you make in overtime. Show the last 2 or 3 years worth of tax transcripts to show you were above the last few years and have the required amount steadily and ongoing. Go ahead and list your savings. Provide bank statement to show how much you have in it. It cannot hurt to list it if you are borderline on income.

You should make it higher than the poverty line. That's the minimum, though. Sometimes the officers want more than this to show your spouse won't be a public burden. The poverty line is the minimum requirement, not the only requirement. They may still request a second sponsor if they don't feel comfortable with your salary amount. Though, I haven't actually seen a case where they've requested a second sponsor after the primary sponsor met the requirements. Personally, I think you'll be okay as long as your tax returns show that you made above the poverty line.

Your income is reliable and it's reflected on your 2012 and 2011 taxes.

However I'd add the 4000 dollars assets to the I864(remember proof thereof - probably 12 months statement from that account will do) because it's such a small amount you're in need of, that it would be ridiculous if you're turned away/get an RFE for something you easily could prevent.

I have addition question regarding this, is it okay to add child support as an income? I do have a court order stating how much im supposed to get in a month, If so where should I put that on I-864? is it on question 26 section C where it states " Enter the net cash value of all stocks, bonds or any other assets not already included in lines 26 (a&b)? and if so should I write it down as child support or just simply provide the copy of the court order. Hope someone can help me out on this, any input pls :help:

Calculate your annual income from your pay stub. For example, if you've been paid for 12 weeks of work, this year, take the gross pay for the twelve weeks, divide it by 12 and multiply that number by 52 (weeks). THAT is your current annual income. Is it enough?

If you have both a court order AND documentation that you actually receive the child support, simply indicate "Court Ordered Child Support" in 22b and add the employment income and child support together when stating current income. Document the child support with a copy of the court order AND evidence the money is being paid to you.

Just to clarify..22b on I-864? that line is for "IF im currently Self-Employed"? Just unsure because I already check on the box of Employed and list my employer. Please verify pushbrk..thanks
