I had called NVC to asked for my NVC number, its been 3 weeks since NOA2 (Jan 22) and STILL they said my case is still not received :crying: . I just emailed them a copy of my NOA2 and hopefully in I'll hear from them soon. Just wondering if anyone else is having this same issue especially from ones who got their NOA2 this January, Please kindly respond with your NOA2 Date and when your NVC was received Or No if youre going to the same thing. :bonk:

MY boy Got his NOA2 on Jan 14, and I got mine on Jan 28, Because the field office issued RFE for my Birth Certificate, Last week my husband called to NVC and they said they already have our cases there, but we should to allow 20-30 days to get our numbers... I emailed them asking for our NVC cases and IIN, But no answer till now !!

Too expensive ... for the bad service !!!

I got approved a week before you (Jan 16), and just recently got my NVC case number last week (Feb 4). I'm assuming this means you should get yours sometime this week. Don't get discouraged - three weeks isn't too bad (they say to give about two weeks for the case to arrive and another two for it to be put in the system). Just keep calling daily and hope for the best. Lots of luck!

There isn't much logic to how much time these things take... they tell us these numbers of days to wait, like 20-30 for each step, but clearly there are lots of people here who receive their numbers in far less time (and some in far more time, but let's not talk about that....)

My stepson's I-130 was approved the same day as yours (NOA-2 Jan 22), received by NVC Feb 4. I called NVC today, nice lady, given the spiel of "10-20 business days...." I've seen people here who got their numbers in a week...

You'd think ours would be in the same shipment as yours, coming from the same place and approved at the same time. Who knows... Hope you find out good news soon!

Our NOA2 date is 1/23. NVC said they received our case 1/29 and this evening (2/12) they gave us our case number and invoice number. I checked invoice online (https://ceac.state.gov/CTRAC/Invoice/signon.aspx) and it said NOT INVOICED, but I guess that takes a couple days (they said 10-20 days but I guess they say that for everything...).

*** Thread moved from CR-1 Process forum to NVC forum -- topic involves an NVC issue. ***

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

NOA2 was Dec 3, NVC received it Dec 10 & got the case number Dec 31. That's 19 business days (more than 3 weeks). Don't worry about it. It is typical to wait that long.

I got my i130 approved on 02-06-2013. Can anybody tell what is the average time of getting NVC case number? I have noticed some timelines getting in 2-3 days while some are taking long. why is that so?

It typically takes 20 business days from NOA2 to getting case number assigned. When your petition/case arrives in NVC, it is not entered in the system right away.
