I submitted my I-751 application on February 2nd and my husband and I would like to go to Europe from 03/08 until 03/17. I am worried that my biometrics appointment will be on one of those dates. (What worries me most is receiving that appointment letter within those dates and having that appointment also be within that week and me completely missing the appointment). Is it advisable to take this trip or should I wait for my biometrics to be over? Thanks.

How about planning the trip out of the country after you have received the Biometrics letter?

At least you will have a clearer picture of the dates...

If you receive the Biometrics letter before your trip, you could attempt a walk-in, not waiting for the actual Biometrics date.

Done with K1, AOS and ROC

The appointment is usually scheduled a month after they send the letter, not a week. I wouldn't buy tickets just yet, but if you don't have a bio letter in 2 weeks you are safe for those dates.

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

Thanks for the responses. I will definitely hold off on getting the ticket and I guess waiting for the bio letter might be my best bet.

But can u travel out of country with no problem to come back after your green card is expired and u have only extension for one year?

Yes that's fine. The problem would be if she missed her biometrics while out and had her ROC denied for abandonment. She wouldn't be able to return to the US using the GC as it wouldn't be valid anymore. She MIGHT be paroled entry but it's better to wait and see.
