I have filed for my fiancee and waiting on decision, hopefully a positive one. I have kwown her since high school but we went our seperate ways and each got married and divorce. We met again when I was in Ghana in June of 2010 and decided to get back together again. I went back again in 2011 to spend the valantine day with her. I was a green card holder so I couldn't file for her. But I became I citizen in November of last year and filed k-1 for her a month after. I am wondering if not visiting her in 2012 will be a problem during the interview? I have all the evidence to prove that we have been talking and providing for her. I plan to to be with her during the interview

It is a requirement of the K-1 that you have seen each other within 2 years of filing, you met that requirement, and being at the interview with her will be another visit. Just make sure you do go for the interview or before, if not it may be a problem. Good luck

Not exactly. It is a requirement of the I-129f petition to have seen her within two years of filing the petition. Approved petitions do NOT equal approved visas. approve petitions allow you to APPLY for a visa and nothing more. The requirements for an approved visa are consulate specific. It could be a problem depending on the consulate. I would look to the input of people that have been interviewed in Ghana.

I do not know what the Ghana consulate thinks about this. You meet the requirement for the petition to be approved.

I just love your story. Best Wishes to You and I am sure if you show evidence of remaining in contact you should be fine. Once again, good luck!

Love is a gift and not to be earned, therefore one should never hold any regrets for giving love regardless of the outcome...

Unless I am missing something i think both mimolicious and Gary and Alla are saying the same thing which is that a face to face is required within 2 years of filing the petition. The OP was the advised to make nother trip before or during the interview as failure to do so may hurt their chances.
