No, I think you need to-do the medical: find a civil surgeon that will fill out the form: you may not need to re-take the vaccines, but the Dr. needs to fill out the form.

I'm not sure, but probably the medical sheet that she was given in Kiev was not complete (some missing vaccination) therefore she would need to go to a doctor, get what is missing and have him/her sign the I-693 (from what I heard some doctors charge really high amount, so ask beforehand!)

I'm sure tho someone more knowledgeable than me will give you a better advise.

the medical exam is inside the package, that the embassy gave you when she was approved. Once you are at the POE, immigrants officer take the package and fwrd to the USCIS. when you file for AOS, you only need to add a copy of your vaccination record complete by the civil surgeon back in your home country.

Sometimes, if you don't have your vaccines completes, the Dr put the ones your are missing but even then, they usually mark the sheet as "INCOMPLETE". Most of the USCIS staff knows that if a person is adjusting from a K1, CR1 and K2, even when the sheet says INCOMPLETE, this people already have every single vaccines, otherwise they wouldn't be able to get the visa in the first place. But some USCIS doesn't know this and send rfes.

In this case all you have to do is make an app with a civil surgean next to you, and have all her vaccines transcripts in the same format but the Dr will mark the as COMPLETE. take a copy a send it. only 20 box

But there's another case and I read cases like this before, where immigration staff at the airport mess up the package and lose the medical results. Even when is not your fault, you need to go to a civil surgeon again and pay for another set of medical test. Once you have the results..email them

Try to find out what really happened so you can start working on it

Even tough K1 visa is processed as an immigrant visa it is really a non immigrant visa.

The vaccination requirements for an Immigrant Visa (GC) are more stringent then what is required for a K1.

When the medical was done for the K1 visa the Doctor should have given you a yellow book. You take this to a civil surgeon and have him fill out the I693 and also administer any missing vaccinations. You can also compare whats in the yellow book with what USCIS requires for a GC yourself.

Some of these civil surgeons are crooks and want to charge you for a complete medical which you do not require. So call around to find a decent one.

You are required to file an I693 when you file for adjustment of status from a K1 visa. This has nothing to do with the medical package you received from the Consulate during the K1.

This is from what I remember when we adjusted from a K1 for my wife.

We did this in 2010 and here's the guide from VJ about I693

I-693, Medical Examination of Aliens Seeking Adjustment of Status.I-693, Medical Examination of Aliens Seeking Adjustment of Status. If you are a K-1, K-2, K-3 or K-4 visa holder the I-693 instructions state that you are not required to have another medical examination as long as your Form I-485 is filed within one year of your overseas medical examination. If you are missing any shots from your overseas medical a I-693 vaccination transcription is required to be completed by seeing a Civil Surgeon to have certain portions of the I-693 completed and have the Civil Surgeon certify the form (sealing the original in an envelope and giving you a copy).

Hi, Sounds like you need a new medical. You can look through this post to see if there's a civil surgeon who won't rip you off

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/231026-civil-surgeons-who-dont-rip-you-off/

Also when you go to the civil surgeon take the DS-3025 you had when you did the medical for the K1 and maybe the civil surgeon will transcribe most of it for you. We did this and it cost only $77 and my husband had a booster shot too. Good Luck!

Yes that has changed. In 2010 I693 was required.

Maybe the Op's wife is missing some shots and hence the RFE for I693.

He should check the USCIS web site for required shots with what was done\given during the medical for K1 to see what shots she is missing.

First, you didnt send the 693 with your AOS. It was in the brown packet she turned in at POE. What you would have turned in with your AOS/485 wouldve been a copy of the DS-3025 (the immunization card)

People adjusting from the K1 do not have to submit a copy of their immunization cards with their 485s as its also in the brown packet, but most do because it serves as a reminder to the person reviewing the 485 that hey, I has the medical done, all my shots are complete, check my brown packet, heres another copy in case it got lost/separated etc.

You got an RFE for another medical. It means that either they lost your medical (it happens) or they lost both your immunization card and copy you submitted (again it could happens but it would be rare they lost them both) or your immunization card and copy are showing shes missing shots.

So I would ask- does the RFE say anything specific? Does it say whats missing? Immunizations incomplete? Does it say 693 missing? If its the 693 then you need the whole medical. If its the 3025 thats just the shots.

The OP did not quote the RFE in its entirety and I have suspicions that the contents have been misunderstood.

If you want meaningful answers, you will have to quote the RFE in its entirety and let us know what you sent, and whether or not her vaccinations were complete.

The simplest and surefire answer is get a new full medical done. If you want to ply detective then please quote the RFE and tell us if her vaccinations were complete in Kiev.

OK Ron, this makes more sense than your PM to me. You need to have the I-693 completed by a Civil Surgeon and send that in. Her vaccinations are not complete or you did not send any record of this. This is why we say to get a copy of the DS-3025 and make sure all vaccinations are complete.

Google "Civil surgeons, Texas", make an appointment and take Sveta there with this form and any record she has of vaccinations. You MAY have topay for another medical exam just "because" Civil Surgeons can charge and make you pay whatever they want in return for their signature on this form. Call around and see who will do it for less AND within the time allowed

If you do anything else her AOS will be denied. Follow what the RFE says exactly, there is no arguing or debating and they are NOT asking you to resend anything you already sent. Follow the directions exactly.

In ANY case, she WILL need to do what the RFE says. I personally worked with another member whose fiancee received an RFE for this same thing. He had replied that her vaccinations WERE complete and that he had sent the DS 3025 to prove it. He sent a letter and another copy of the DS 3025. Some months later she was DENIED and ordered to leave the country!

He had to file a motion to reopen ($585) and came to find out she DID have all the vaccines but the "vaccinations complete" box was not checked and the adjudicator was too lazy to just review the form and determine it was complete. This cost an extra $585 and delayed her green card for MORE THAN A YEAR!!!!!!!!!

Bite the bullet and do what they say. Whatever it costs, it will be less than the alternative.

The Kiev medical facility WILL issue the DS 3025 if you ask for it and WILL check the "vaccinations complete" box if you make sure they do. My instructions to Alla at the time were DO NOT leave without the DS 3025 and without the boxes being checked (for her and the 2 boys) she did and we successfully adjusted status with no further expense or delays.
