Worried about the address he put in I-129F and G-325

It's me again,

My fiance sent the I-129F packet Dec 29th, 2012 and he hasn't received any notification like email yet. By the way, the address he put in all forms is his APO/FPO address (he's from the Navy deployed in Japan). Would this matter? Or he should have put his address in States given that he's currently deployed in Japan? Just wondering because from what I can see on some timeline, they were able to get NOA1 via email within 5 to 7 business days. Thank you or should we still wait for couple of days?

Did your fiance complete Form G-1145, E-Notification of Application/Petition Acceptance and clip it to the I-129F Petition so that he/you could be notified via email?

Hard copies are only sent to US addresses. Did he send the form to get notifications by text and email?

That is not correct. The non-US addresses do sometimes receive hard copies. Military addresses should be treated like regular American ones, though.

With the holidays and things I'd wait a few days to be worried about it.

Was the packet received by USCIS yet? Has the check been cashed?

Timelines are misleading as they are filled out in arrears and people put the date of the NOA1 which is before it was even mailed. Whil eit may show 5-7 days, it may have been 3 weeks before they received the notice. You need to wait. APO/FPO will slow things down. Did he use some sort of delivery confirmation? Was the check cashed? If yes, you are on your way.

The NOA1 is perhaps the most useless piece of paper in the world. If you have delivery confirmation and the check was cashed you KNOW they have it and can get the case number from the back of the check. The NOA1 will not tell you anything else. The NOA1 date will be witnin a day or two of when they received it. Close enough for this process.

Relax.

Nola123 & Leatherneck: Yes he did submitted a G-1145 form, and he hasn't received anything yet, so we're really aren't sure if the USCIS received it. And he used check :-/

Gary and Alla: Thank you for that!! I was just curious because people were putting NOA1 then NOA2 etc. And yes, worried about the FPO address. Good thing to know everything was just normal it's just slow.
