Slight update on our case. I talked to customer service and they said, regarding our I-485, the Chicago office is behind in processing and is still working on October filings. Anybody else here file with the Chicago office who can verify this?

As for the I-130, I was transferred to talk to someone else but the wait was 25-30 minutes which went past closing time. I waited 30 minutes just the same but no one ever picked up. Will call tomorrow and update this post.

Hi everyone! We had our AOS interview this morning at 7:30am in Seattle. In went smooth, we had all of our documents in order and the IO was satisfied with all of the responses to his questions. He ended the interview with, "Everything looks good. I will do a final review of your case and you can expect something for us in the mail within 2-3 weeks". He didn't explicitly say approval and I thought it would be presumptuous to ask. The paper gave us had "Final Review" ticked. However, just now, 3 hours after our interview, our we received a notification from USCIS about our case status. It now says:

Application Type: I485 , APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Your Case Status: Card/ Document Production

On April 9, 2013, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

This step applies to applications that result in an applicant receiving a card (such as a "green card") or other document (such as a naturalization certificate, employment authorization document, travel document, or advance parole). Applications will be in this step from the time the order to produce the card/document is given until the card/document is produced and mailed to the applicant. You can expect to receive your card/document within 30 days of the approval of your application.

Does this mean approval!? My husband has already received his EAD/AP.

Thanks!

Hello! Sorry for the hiatus. We got approved on the spot :D

Our interview appointment at the Boston field office was at 8.15 am. We got there slightly before 8 am and there wasn't many people at the office. Everyone was super nice. However, we were not called in for the interview until 9.45 am. We actually went up to the front desk to ask if we could use the bathroom just because we were afraid we would miss our turn and was told that there was one couple before us and the guy at the desk was really nice and went to check with our interviewer. We were told that it would have to wait for a little bit.

The couple before us was interviewed for almost an hour (first the wife, then the husband +lawyer, then the wife again), and they had a lawyer, so we were starting to worry a little. The hubby said its probably because of the "phonebook-size" paperwork I submitted =_=

Anyway, we were called in at around 9.45am. The lady was really nice. She wanted to speak to the hubby first. They talked for maybe 10-15 min? She asked him questions such as:

1) how we met

2) the fact that we live in different states (due to work), what our future plans were? especially because we didnt have the intention to live together for at least another year due to work/school (however, we have lived together previously for almost 4 years)

3) she looked at the photo timeline that we submitted with the application (spanning 8 years) including trips we took abroad, wedding pictures etc (we submitted this in color printer with our initial submission as we were advice that due to the fact we live apart, we should submit lots of evidence)

4) she looked at the air tickets and itinerary showing our almost monthly trips between both states for the past 2 years

The hubby is very laid back and goofy, so i think that really helped. Anyway, then she came to get me. I happen to have a foot tendon injury and she noticed i was limping mildly. Turns out she has foot issues too and she ended up talking to me more about my foot than actual questions. In terms of what she asked me, she just briefly asked about our joint accounts, and our living situation/future plans. Then, she just asked for the EAD/travel card they issued, my I-94s and then really quickly went through the generic biography verification and questions such as "are u affiliated with political parties, ever been arrested etc"

Then we were told, our application is approved for the conditional green card and she told us what we needed to do for lifting of conditions. i asked if she could stamp my passport, but she said they do not do that anymore because the green card arrives really fast these days (10 days apparently). She said she knows its weird to not have any documentation that everything is approved but said not to worry. And, then she kept asking if we have questions.. but we were just psyched and said no. I asked if she wanted to see real pictures.. she laughed as said no, there isn't much more convincing that she needed.

All in all, it took us maybe 20-25 min. The wait was way longer than the interview. But, overall, it was an easy interview, almost relaxing :)

USPS screwed up the mailing of our green card!! Somehow the priority mail containing the green card was missent to the wrong post office and was scanned as "missent" and since then the postal office has rerouted it supposedly to the right office. However, that was a week ago and since the reroute scan, there has been NOTHING on the tracking. I have called both the USPS office in my district as well as the one that rerouted it (its across town but boston isn't that big!!) and they cannot find it in their system! All they can tell me is that the only way they can track is if the next person scans it but they all agree it shouldn't have taken this long, among a myriads of other excuses (including that the tracking label may have fallen off etc) which essentially is them saying they really have no idea where it is. And, today, one office told me that its showing up in their system that its scanned last in arlington, VA two days ago. Its so ridiculous because the tracking has not been updated since last week for me and they think its because of their new updated tracking software =_=

I even called USCIS customer service and they told me that they were opening up a "report" so they can contact USPS on their end to verify whats going on. I heard that the process of getting a replacement card can be a nightmare. Has anyone had problems like this before??

I am hoping that the mail somehow arrives next week but at this point I am expecting the worse. I am so frustrated.. :(

Same boat here. We received a letter two or weeks ago from the USCIS pretty much just saying that they were aware of our wait. Other than that, there hasn't been even a hint of an interview. So even though my wife has her social security card, she's completely in limbo as far as a green card goes.
