We sent our (K1)129F package to Dallas a little less than 2 weeks ago. We haven't received NOA1 yet and today they called my fiancé (who is the petitioner) from USCIS Chicago (?) and asked questions about him and about our relationship. Similar questions whats in the petition. My fiancé said they were "cool" on the phone, so I guess nothing was wrong in the application, but I was wondering is it normal that they make phone calls like that?

hmmm....the address in Chicago you mail the petition to is merely a drop box, the petitions are sent to the service centers from there. When something is wrong with a petition a request for evidence is sent through the mail, no phone call, no interview ever at this stage. Just doesn't add up at all.

That is very unusual! We sent our petition Nov 1st and within a ween and a half we received our NOA1 on the mail. Yes, both of our phone numbers are on the form I129F however the fact that they called USCIS Chicago is pretty strange. all forms are mailed to Dallas lockbox and sent to either Vermont or California depends on the region you live in I believe. I live in Texas and our petition was sent to Vermont.

K1 filers do not send anything to Chicago. Everything is mailed to the Dallas sorting facility and, consequently, re routed to California or Vermont.

I was called last saturday at 8 am by my interviewing IO in regards to getting my fingerprints done. But ive been interviewed, so i dont really know if its the same.

You received a phone call from your IO regarding your AOS. This is completely different.
