More "stumping" today. I really start to respect Gov. Christie. It takes big balls for this Republican governor to get in front of the cameras and tell it like it is in the wake of this disaster a week before election day. You know Christie is getting heat for this but he does not seem to care. He's the governor doing what's best for his state. Hats off!

Christie gets a few million $$$ for his state, maybe 10s of millions, and draws Obama into a state where he is assured to win and takes him out of states where he needs to be and you think it is "cool"? Cool.

Meanwhile Romney is picking up votes at rallies in Ohio and making a huge TV ad buy in Pennsylvania.

Well, almost sounds like you work for the Romney campaign. They're all politically inept.

If Romney wins Christie can't run for president until 2020. If Obama gets another 4 years he can run in 2016. Maybe that's his logic.

Or maybe he's a decent guy who only cares about the people who elected him.

I live in FL and this is all over the news here. Suspect that it's all over the news in OH, VA, NC, IA, CO and NV as well. Americans want to see executives that cooperate for the good of the people. Christie and Obama are doing that. Live. On TV. This is helping Obama more than any stump speech before a Democratic crowd ever could.

you know what would really help obama's image & the people in the NE? a convoy of tanker trucks full of fuel & temporary pumping stations. they have no electricity, they need fuel. NOW

I do not like Romney and will not vote for him. I told you that when Herman Cain dropped out. You think I changed my mind? Obama spent the day doing what he really does not NEED to be doing in a place he really does not NEED to be. Romney spent the day right where he needed to be. Glad you were happy about it.

Who is giving him heat?

He seems genuinely concerned about his state. Who could/would find wrong in that?

I can't fathom how you think him complementing the President for helping is so bizarre. Republicans are able to set aside differences and work together in times of crisis, unlike all the Dems who used Katrina for political gain

He is going to suggest they install solar power instead.

Everyone knew this storm was coming and knew where abouts it would hit. If Obama had a brain and cared he would have had those tankers staged in Tennessee or Kentucky, even Ohio, and on the road within a couple hoursw after landfall and trucks with generators, flashlights, bottled water, diapers, insulin, yada yada. Nope. Wasn't done. No relief in sight yet. Military helicopters with supplies landing 2 hours behind the storm, OH YEAH! He would have slammed Romney's face in the door. But he couldn't even prepare for an attack on a US embassy. He missed it entirely and meanwhile Romney grabs headlines with $5000 in canned goods they don't even need! What a fool Obama is. A buffoon. And worst of all the people he could have helped are still dark and cold tonight.

He is not a leader and he completely missed an incredible opportunity. What a fool.

Maybe when Bloomberg turned down Obama because the city didn't need to worry about security right now...Christie jumped on the oppportunity to lure Obama away from states where he needs to be.

It would be better if Christie were thanking Obama while CH-47 helicopters shuttled back and forth with supplies behind him...now THAT would be a photo-op. Obama helping unload truckloads of 5000w generators, cases of bottled water...how about Obama handing out supplies of insulin to diabetics? None of that happened. Romney picked up a couple more points in Ohio. People in NY and PA and NJ are still cold and dark and within medications.

Great leader that Obama guy.

I think it's the latter. These clips are like concrete boots for Christie in 2016 - maybe sooner. Just look at what happened to Charlie Crist. Christie knows that. So I think much like Charlie, he's looking out for people in NJ doing what they elected him to do. People first, politics second. I am starting to respect the man - this isn't an easy thing for him to do but he's doing it because it's the right thing to do. That's what you call a leader.

In this crisis, Chris Christie has had his priorities right from the start. He is representing his constituents and doing rather a good job of it.

Absolutely!

Compare the federal response to Katrina to the federal response to Irene last year and Sandy this year. It's a night-and-day difference. Why? Well, because Obama put experience ahead of politics when selecting the head of FEMA who is the same guy that ran the FL emergency response under no other than Jeb Bush. Don't give me this bullshite of Democrats not reaching across the aisle where it matters. They have and continue to do so. Obama has done that appointing Fugate to lead FEMA after consulting with Jeb Bush. You've got to pull that head of yours out of your ####### and you'll see much clearer.
