EAD approved AOS still on Acceptance

Hello VJ family.

I got an approval message from USCIS saying that my I765 got approved and they'd be sending me the card shortly. This is good news but my I485 is still on acceptance. We filed in the beginning of August. If there's one thing that these whole K1 and AOS processes taught me, it is to be patient.

Any ideas why it's taking so long? I posted a similar topic and I got some rude answers like what are you trying to receive in such a short time blah blah as if I filed a week ago and didn't get an approval. They also told me that online system is unreliable but yesterday it worked. So how come an unreliable system works just fine?

Anyway just felt like venting. Good luck and hope my my I131 and I485 get approved soon.

Yes, the online system is unreliable, because SOMETIMES it works, SOMETIMES it doesn't. That's all. I personally didn't have any huge problem with it, but some members have reported that it didn't work for them.

You filed at the beginning of August, meaning less than 3 months ago. This is nothing in USCIS time. The good thing is that because you filed after August 1st, your case won't get transferred to CSC, where the waiting time was quite long. Your case will either stay at NBC and be approved without interview, or be sent to your local USCIS and scheduled for an interview. Be patient, and start worrying when you're past 6 months. You'll soon receive you work and travel authorization card. The green card won't bring you much, if it can help you be more patient.

Your EAD had been approved, which certainly means your AP has been too (you didn't get the update, but this is normal, when you'll receive your EAD card, there will be the AP note on it... and yet, no approval update for it... you will then understand why it is said to be "unreliable").

Welcome in the 'Waiting Club'. I filed in July 2012, case still in acceptance. So, with the EAD you can get a job and for get about the GC for about 6 months, only then start to worry. I check the status once in two weeks!

We also filed in April and still waiting on the greencard. The frustrating part is they said they sent it to CSC for "faster processing". But faster is with interview. Patience, patience, patience.

Congrats! We are about a month behind you so it's good to hear you got your EAD. My husband is going stir crazy not being able to work, but the worse part is being stuck in the k1 limbo of having an expired I94 but no EAD or current immigration document to show that you are not out of status.

It's a waiting game. I filed in Feb, got my EAD in April. I still don't have a Greencard.
