My husband came over on a K1, we got married, recently filed his I485. Just received his I797c. It says received date Oct 15 2012, notice date Oct 17, 2012. Today is now Oct 22. I still am unable to log on to the case status website and enter the receipt number to get status updates. It keeps saying " Your case can not be found at this time in My Case Status. Please check your receipt number and try again."

How long does it take (or is it suppose to take) for it to show up in the system? Ive tried calling the 800 number but I cant seem to find my way through the prompts to an actual person.

Mine says the same thing. Receipt Notice(s) date Oct 5. Up till now I couldn't add these cases to my account. Maybe they are behind in putting us on the system or what. I just don't know. I never attempted to call the 800 number yet. I'll probably do so by the first week of Nov, if by then I still get the same result ( case cannot be found). unsure.gif

The online update system is very commonly unreliable. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't... If you received the notice of action, that means the USCIS have your case.

Same situation here. Our case still hasn't been entered into the USCIS site. Ours arrived on 10/1, received hard copy NOAs on 10/12. On 10/15 we received the letter for the Biometrics appointment, so it looks like things are moving along even though the website doesn't recognize our case numbers. I wouldn't worry too much about it as long as you continue receiving hard copy correspondence.

I've had my biometrics done and have received my EAD/AP card and the system still tells me that my case cannot be found on the website. When I would call USCIS to get an update, I would usually talk to a Tier 2 operator who was able to give me the info that I needed.

Just thought I would post an update after speaking with USCIS today. I've been having the same problem where none of our case numbers come up in the online or automated system. I spoke with an actual person today and she informed that there are a lot more cases that don't make it into the system than actually do end up appearing. She said it's normal, that the system is not reliable and not to worry that they have our documentation and all is fine.

I guess the only thing we can really do is just sit and be patient and if we don't hear anything within the normal waiting time, then contact them directly to see what's going on.
