I didn't say that at all. But that is one possibility. Or maybe the intelligence community decided not to tell him what they knew. Or perhaps they wanted to tell him but he didn't want to know. Or (fill in your own reason).

I just want to know why we were told it was a protest that turned violent when that is not even close to the truth.

Well, if the Administration has been saying all along, that that is what the intelligence had told them, and we don't have any compelling evidence to the contrary, wouldn't it make more sense to at least withhold any judgments about how the Administration 'handled' the situation after it occurred?

To be fair, there is the possibility that for some reason the intelligence did not ever make its way to him. Lack of communication between intelligence departments has been known to happen, so perhaps it didn't make it to the White House. I'll back off a little on my previous statement. There is the possibility that he was kept out of the loop. But I still want to know how that could possibly happen, and I want to know who made the decision to not keep the President informed.

It's just a little difficult to believe that somehow, somebody made the decision to purposefully let the President believe something not true and then let him continually tell the world that the blame lies with a video. Somebody needs to take the fall for this and I don't think it's Hillary.

And that is where you lose ground because it would be sensible and logical for anyone to ask that question and go one step further and demand to know what is being done to prevent it from happening again, or mitigating the possibility at least.

As it turns out, it is far more enticing to turn the death of the ambassador into an instrument of political bashing to the current administration. Left or right, when it comes to political bashing, anything and anyone will do. Let not scruples stand on their way!

Yeah, my thought was that this was more indicative of a failure of our intelligence than anything, but I don't think anyone purposely misled the Administration to state publicly what turned out not to be the case. If indeed it was a failure of our intelligence, then we should be asking why and how we can prevent such bad intelligence from happening in the future.

It must be awesome having everything fit your purpose. The thrust of this thread, and your most common Obama attack is he blames everyone else, and Hilary was taking the blame to cover Obama.

Quick change, he takes responsibility as Commander in Chief, and you go with 'it was his fault!'

Everyone expected him to let Hillary take the fall. Obama would be a coward and deflect responsibility. Instead, he does the opposite. He says "at the end of the day, she still works for me" and takes responsibility. Which was also the wrong thing to do, apparently. Glad people here are realistic in their demands.

There is also a huge difference in being responsible because Hilary and the State Department are under Obama, and active involvement in say the Bin Laden raid. Having directly ordered the raid, had that operation gone south, would have been a much more direct responsibility.

There is, at this point, no information indicating Obama was aware the Lybian Consolate was asking for more security, nor aware or involved in said requests going unanswered or denied.
