So yesterday we finally received an SMS from the USCIS.

I quickly checked and the website showed that the AOS was at "card/document production" step.

Then we got another text at 10 pm and 10:15pm which effectively changed the status back to "Decision"

Then another message at 2 am today which again changed the status back to "card/document production".

Now again another sms at 11 am today which changed the status back to "Decision"

What the heck is going on?

Thanks,

Chigs

It's normal, I answered you on another topic.

Don't only look at the status title, but at the status description. Card/Document production can be:

"we ordered production of your new card"

or

"we mailed the new card directly to the address we have on file"

or

"The USPS reported that your new card was delivered on xx/xx/2012"

Check on uscis.gov to have the full description. Texts doesn't tell you much.

Typically, updates follow this order:

Card production ordered/permanent residency registered ("Decision")/card production ordered (again, always, don't know why)/card mailed/card delivered.

Yep, I just checked your other response.

Thanks for the input.

The same thing happened to my wife's case. Expect to see your card in a few days.

Congratulations!

Thank you Operator.

You were approved and the card is coming soon. Congrats! I was confused too when my EAD and AP were approved, too many different notifications in a short time.
