We filed AoS and received an NOA with a priority date of September 17 2012 that told us when Paul needed to go for his biometrics appointment. We went yesterday for that. My question is what happens next? I see a lot of people talking about an AoS transfer. How do you know when AoS has been transferred and to what location? It didn't say anything about that on the NOA we got(unless I'm overlooking it). What can we expect next?

You wait patiently for the next update. It can be case transferred to CSC for "faster processing" (but really, is not) OR it can be an interview scheduled at your local USCIS office.

I see that you filed for EAD and AP as well, so next update can also be EAD/AP approved. Or a RFE.

As of August 1, they aren't transferring to CSC any longer. National Benefits Center will process those chosen to be adjudicated without interview.

Is that what the AoS transfer is all about? Prior to Aug. 1 those not being interviewed were transferred to CSC? Are there any statistics on how many are chosen to be adjudicated without interview?

Not 100% of cases that are transferred to CSC don't get an interview, but it's pretty close, 95%.

If case is transferred to CSC : Typically no interview but you'll wait a LONG time (I waited 240 days).

If case transferred to local CIS office : You'll get an interview but the process should be quicker.

I still don't know what is best!

You should also receive EA and AP, which can take 50-80 days (but in some cases much quicker than that).

Other than that just wait wait wait wait wait!

I'd guess half of those applying who are on VJ timelines. We used to keep a UK AOS spreadsheet, and at that time 2009-10, it was about 65% of the UK participants who were transferred. But that's not exactly a perfect sampling of every K1 doing AOS so nothing to hang your hat on.
