hi everyone on VJ! anyone here knows if I (beneficiary) can cancel the visa application? My fiance has been soo mean to me. I gave up a lot of things for him. I am a nurse and because he doesn't like my schedule he asked me to stop. I didn't want more fighting so i quit the job and try to be always available for him. But he never treated me fairly. He also didn't tell me that he was divorced four times. When i got sick, he accuses me of pretending and just seeking for attention( which is nonsense to me because he's not capable of taking care of me). I took a chance on him and he was just putting on a big faked when i met him. I came from a decent educated family and this guy visited me in Philippines and spent 90% of the time drinking, cussed me in front of my mom and my grandmother. I met this guy in Philippines last year and he seemed to be a perfect guy; now i know that he was just putting on a show and he's just looking for a new ex-wife. Our visa process is now close to the 5th month since NOA1. What should i do? i want to move on with my life and not stuck up with this visa thing because i know that he's not doing anything to cancel it even though i asked him to do so a million times!

Hi there...you better end the relationship coz imagine how he treats you now with the fact that you are still living afar...what more if you are already in USA with no family around...this guy is sick!being involved with 4 wives is a big question that should at least warn you in gettin' committed with him...You've got your profession and family...better leave him now while you're still on the process of K1...goodluck!

I would not continue the process. Do not respond to anything else with him or this process. I would move on with your life, he sounds like he doesn't respect you or your family. There are many people that are really fake about who they are, but at least you now know what type of person he really is before you would have married him. Everything happens for a reason, so try not to get depressed. One door closes and another one opens for you. Good luck and don't let any guy make you do anything that you don't want to. They should accept you for who you are. Best Wishes.

I Looooooove my baby Lyn.

I don't know if you can cancel it, but maybe you can send email to USCIS and USEM, include the name of petitioner in your email.

You are thinking the right thing. If he is very mean to you now, what more when you are already in the US. Don't be afraid to lose him. You would find better one. Don't settle for less just by getting a green card. You won't be happy having a GC and living with a miserable life. There are still lots of good men. Be proud that you what is right for you. Take care and be strong. God bless you.

Wow, good for you for standing up for yourself and recognizing that this is not a good relationship. Definitely get out now while you've only invested a minimum in this mess.

Don't bother contacting USEM, if your petition is still processing, the most you would want to do is deal with whichever processing center has it right now. If you manage to get it canceled, great. Otherwise, if it gets approved, just don't interview at Manila, which amounts to applying for the visa.

Good luck moving on from this unfortunate person! He clearly doesn't know how to appreciate having found a forward-thinking woman with a good head on her shoulders.

Long story short, we have a complicated case. We've been at this for nearly 5 years. You can read our story here. I highly recommend our attorney Laurel Scott, as well as attorneys Laura Fernandez and Lizz Cannon .

Filed I-130 via CSC in Feb 2008. Petition approved June 2008. Consular interview in Mexico, Oct 2008, visa denied, INA 212a6cii. We allege improper application of the law in this case.

2012, started over in Seoul: I-130 filed DCF on 7/2, I-130 approved 8/8, Medical at Yonsei Severance 11/20, IR1 appointment in November 2012.

CRBA filed 1-3-13 at Seoul for our daughter

You may likely get your approval in the next weeks since you are already 5 months into the process. If you haven't sign up in USCIS for updates you may want to do that. Once the I-129F petition is approved you can then go ahead email the service center that you are going to cancel the said petition. Include information such as full names, date of births, (your)country and case number of beneficiary and petitioner.

That is if your petitioner is not willing to withdraw the petition himself. It won't hurt sending the email yourself though.good.gif

Formally cancelling the petition will be vital in an event that you won't have any problems if you are petitioned by another US citizen in the future. I have heard /read of two cases in the US Embassy Manila. The petitions weren't formally withdrawn by the previous petitioners. The beneficiaries were found ineligible to receive visas during their interviews. The files/petitions were returned/sent back to the service centers pending further processing. One eventually had a 2nd interview & got approved while the other one I don't know what the outcome was since she hasn't returned to the forum to update her case.

Sorry to hear your story. I'm a nurse as well and I know how hard it is to look for a job that fits our profession here in the Philippines, and how we value our clinical experience. Just look on the brighter side of it, you found out before you tied the knot with him. God bless to you!!!

Girl,

Do you feel worthy of this man? ---------------------- if NO, then go to next question.

Does he deserve your love? ---------------------- if NO, then go to next question

Do you feel like you've been treated well? ---------------------- if NO, then go to next question

Do you feel like you've got red flags? ---------------------- if YES, then see suggestion

There are million of men out there who are worthy of your love, time, devotion and companionship. There are GOOD men who will adore you, appreciate you, trust you, want to grow old with you...

Do not settle for LESS! Dump that loser. You deserve better.... Chin up girl... it's better to marry and enjoy company, than marry the wrong man and feel like you're in prison.

You have everything at home in your country. Be patient. The right one will come along.
