K1 AOS.

Hey guys,

How long is it taking the majority to get there preliminary green card after marriage? I looked at the processing times and it just says its on march 2011 am i looking at the correct thing? Employment Authorization and travel document says 3 months which i believe is correct.

On another note, I was hoping to travel home for xmas, but for some reason, id feel safer traveling on the green card as opposed to just the travel document i dont know why, but i may have read something here in the past of people having issues with just the travel document?

My wife's green card was just sent out yesterday, it took 8 months. EAD/AP seems to be taking about 60-80 days.

You may be looking at processing times for another AOS category.

I was freakin' nerveous to come back with the AP after reading ppl writing their experiences with it. mine went smooth at the POE, but almost didn't get on the plane in the originating country!

I had zero trouble with AP, I submitted my AOS in DEC 2011 and had word authorization and advance parole approved in FEB 2012. no problems coming back through dublin in march. similar to when they process your K1 packet, they take you to the back room look things over and send you on your way.

ALSO another note on processing times for the I-485 itself the processing times are accurate if your case is sent to a local office and your called for an interview. But if you case is sent to the California Service Centre (CSC) it could take much much longer. Im still waiting to hear something back and mine was transferred in FEB

I am an Irish citizen and i was granted advanced parole on the spot, by showing up at my local uscis office. they approved and issued the document within a hour (due to the sudden death of my mother)... they were very compasionate. I used it successfully to re-enter the us while my adjustment of status was pending and i was approved for my greencard a week after i re-entered the us... good luck the travel documenet will suffice!

what documents/paperworks you brought with you when u travel?of course aside from the AP. Thanks!
