Right, we got an RFE saying we needed to prove we met in the last two years. So currently I scanning my passport. Questions: Do I only need my ID page and the pages with the stamps on them? Can I cut and paste a few scanned pages onto one sheet or is that going to somehow make my scan no good? I mean, should I have a one passport page printed seperately on each piece of paper? They are so weird about stuff I'm afraid I'm going to do something wrong and get another letter.....

You want the page copies to be readable, don't risk an RFE for trying to be green.

I blew up the image as wide as the page...

Also, try to include copies of boarding passes, receipts and ATM slips from time in fiancee's country (if you have these)

I say go to a copy machine and make copies. You don't have to copy all the pages just the one with the stamps on them. I also highlighted the dates since I had several passport stamps on one page since I do a lot of traveling. I would also add itineraries or boarding passes as well as any hotel receipts. Good luck! :)

I used a color copier and the passport pages looked great.

Proof you met also includes: Photo's of both of you together, flight receipts, chat logs, emails, letters you might have written each other, phone records, 2 or 3 of each will be fine. Good Luck on your continued journey :)

The bad thing is that I threw away my boarding passes which is horrible. I have my iternary and the stamps in my passport. Also, I didn't use my ATM while I was there, or my debit card. I either used cash that I exchanged over there or my fiance paid for stuff, and we stayed at his apartment... And when he visited here we stayed at my apartment. So hrm, maybe he can send me some statements from his bank. I hope I have enough. I'm a bit nervous! You'd kind of think the photos and flight itenary I had sent would have been enough :bonk:

If you think about it, the photos could have been taken 3 years ago so no real date proof of meeting the 2 years requirement. The itinerary could have been cancelled and doesn't prove you boarded. A passport stamp with a country and date is solid proof you couldn't have unless you actually entered the country.

I got an RFE for basically the same thing. Copy all the pages of your passports for both of you. Color vs black and white doesn't matter. Even if you didn't use your debit cards in each others countries, surely you used it to book your plane tickets. Could you maybe use the info from that? Do you have any ticket stubs from things you did together?

By the time you receive an RFE, USCIS can and will make a decision based on whichever evidence you have provided with the original petition and then the RFE response. If it takes a few more minutes to copy all pages of the passport, it'd be worth it, IMO.

Don't try to screw with the dimensions of the images too much. It might look fine on the computer but on a print it may look different when you alter the dimensions or size. You can put more on one page but print it out and see if it's readable before you decide to do 10 pages that way.

Having used credit card to buy the tickets doesn't prove having met, only that you purchased something. Your pictures together are merely supporting your passport stamps, however they do support the passport stamps. I'd handwrite a date and location under each picture, and add the names of people in the pictures as well.

TO OP:

For the sake of clarity when dealing with an RFE associated with satisfying the 'meeting within the prior 2 years,' requirement, it may more prudent to copy and submit ALL of the pages of your passport. The pages are sequentially numbered. There can be no question of an omission if all of the passport pages are submitted.

Good luck on your visa journey.

Well, he's got a receipt from his visa that has my home address on it that he just found. I can't prove that I bought the tickets as I didn't and neither did he. His Dad bought his ticket on his credit card and Nick paid him back the following week in cash (I feel uncomfortable asking for his Dad's credit card statement >.>), and for me my Dad bought me my ticket to England as my Christmas present that year. So what we have our the passport stamps, our photos together, letters referencing the visit, our flight itenary, an affidavit about meeting Nick for Thanksgiving from my father... should that be sufficent?

If that is all you have, give it a shot. The passport stamps are the biggie as it shows you entered each other's countries. If I were you, I'd also resubmit evidence that you had previously submitted. My RFE was for not submitting passport identification pages to go along with the stamps, but we had so it clearly got lost somewhere down the line. Who knows if they lost something of yours the first time around.
