Soooo disappointed that we haven't received anything since our packet was sent out on 8/7. Maybe our check will be cashed today? or a NOA1 will show up in the mail box.

In response to some of the earlier questions, we didn't send any affidavids or letters from friends, sent pictures but not of our wedding but of our life AFTER our wedding, and yes, the check is made out to Department of Homeland Security not the service center. And last but not least, I signed the letter because as the letter was written, I was the one asking for removal of conditions on my husband :) I hope that answers some of the questions :hehe:

Yeah, I believe most questions were answered but just to add, we included a few pictures with family members. I also wrote the date on them. I included two affidavits (not notarized), one from a close friend and the other from my husband's uncle because he's our landlord too.

Brachicago, when does your card expire? I sent my package the same date as you (express overnight) to VSC. My card expires 4 days from today so I was doing this last minute. Never got a reminder anyway. If you don't receive your NOA1 soon I would make an Infopass appointment before your card expires!

I actually got the package back in the mail yesterday. I put the wrong amount on my check ($545 vs $590, eventhough it says the fee is $465 + $80 for the biometric.). Now i will resend it today by express USPS. My GC expires on the 16th.

Sorry to hear that. It's important to always check the USCIS for the most updated information and forms.

Filing Fee :

$505. (Add $85 biometric fee for a total of $590, where applicable. See the form instructions for payment details.)

I really hope it's not required to send an affidavit. When I read the instructions, I took it to be an optional thing. We could ask his family (there's only his mum and dad though) but aside from that, we actually don't have many friends here. I have one friend that lives in New York, but I feel awfully uncomfortable about asking her for an affidavit since it would require she get it notarized. I know she'd probably be fine with it if I asked her to - but still makes me feel uncomfortable, so I'd prefer not to if possible. I guess I just don't want to ask her for fear of inconveniencing her - she's very busy with looking after her mother, who's been quite sick. We've never needed an affidavit before, so I'm hoping this time will be the same.
