K-1 Interview -- Confused

I have a questions about the K-1 interview. Is the fiance the only one interviewed or do I have to go to Mexico and be interviewed also?

The Beneficiary is the only one interviewed, but alot of people join their SO at the time of the interview for moral support.

Yep...the beneficiary is interviewed...and sometimes the petitioner goes along for support. I, for one, plan on being there in Montréal, if the interview is when I can get off work

Yep, the Beneficiary is the only one the is interviewed. I was able to attend my fiances interview in Egypt and I was not allowed to say HI or BOO! If you are planning to attend the interview you should check with the embassy first. Some embassies do not allow the fiance to even walk inside the door.

At my K-1 interview, my fiance was allowed to go with me and stood right beside me during the whole interview process. He was asked a few questions too, but they were mainly interested in me, the foreign fiance.

I was glad he was there to be with me for support and to calm my nerves a little. No one else had their fiances with them at their interviews on the day I was at the Vancouver Consulate, so I felt very lucky to have mine there.

Just the foreign fiance but some Embassy's allow the USC to be there with them, you can call and find out

Actually if you're in Montreal, you'll get interviewed as well as it usually ends up that the USC gets asked more questions then the alien fiancee will. But technically, only the alien fiancee is required to be present for the interview.

The day of my fiances interview in Chennai,, they (Embassy) called my home early morning (5 a m) and interviewed me by phone for over an hour. So it really does differ from case to case. Just wanted everyone to know it is a possibilty ..

In the U.S. Embassy in Bogotá, Colombia, the CO sometimes asks the petitioner if he/she is there questions sometimes.

If you go thru the Dominican Republic, it is highly reccomended that the USC fiance attend the interview. I hear that it's a sure denial if you don't.

Anything can happen at these interviews and the policy changes at each embassy and with each embassy officer. There is "NO" steadfast answer to your question. Be prepared and go if you can make it to the interview. As Peter in Miami said in Bogota they do routinely ask questions to the petitioner if they show up at the interview. As of recent an immigration attorney who handles many Fiance visas is telling his clients to make the trip if possible. That's not to say you won't get an approval if you don't show but showing up at the interview shows alot about the relationship to the CO

Congratulations on your upcoming interview! The Embassy in Santo Domingo received my husband's I-129F on October 12, 2005 (or at least that's when they logged it). As of February 28, 2006, he was #14,000+ on the waiting list. Did you track the progress on line? I guess we are looking at the end of this year for an interview.

Can't speak for other areas, but in Peru I (the USC) will most likely also be interviewed. I also have heard that it is best that the USC is present......but that's the embassy in Lima. Every embassy is different unfortunately.

I keep hearing Mexico (Juarez) will not let you in... so you can be there for moral support..but alas from across the street
