Hello fellow Vj'ers,

Am scheduled to have my citizenship interview and test in Atlanta on JUne 7th. Today i got a letter from USCIS that they cancelled it and i will have to wait for further notice from them for the rescheduling.

Anybody got the same letter and any idea why it was being cancelled?

AM freaking out and starting to worry. Pls. Help

I don't know if it's the same for N-400, but most people who have received those letters still attend at the original date and time and find out that their appointment wasn't cancelled at the local office so had they not attended it would have looked like they missed the interview and would have had their case denied.

My advice is to attend your scheduled appointment. Dont' mention the reschedule and worst case scenario they will send you home. Best case you continue with the interview (which has happened to many people).

Why don't you just call the 800 number or go online and schedule an info pass? Everybody's situation is different. Something as important as this needs to be addressed directly. It may be that they over scheduled for that date but you won't know unless you speak with them. I wish you all the best.

Ive read some posts whose scheduled interview were cancelled not just N-400. I will still go ahead and attend my interview as scheduled . Just dont wanna take the risk.

Hi there, same thing happened to me. my appointment for interview was on the same day 06/07/2012 and same place "Atlant" and got cancelled too. now that I read your post I know it's circumstances that has to deal with office not the applicants. I hope if other applicants on the same day can read this postand let us hear them. just to feel better that there is nothing wrong with process.

:goofy: I wonder if the City of Atlanta is having any huge convention or something (obviously not political) that day that would make it hard to get to the office? Just trying to think what it could be. :goofy:

A few years back when applying for my GC I remember getting an interview notice with a date and time, then a few days later I get a letter saying they had to cancel that appointment. I waited a week and I got another letter with an interview date and time.. I went to that one and everything went fine.. I do remember being nervous that my original interview was canceled though.. The point I'm getting it, is that it happens. Don't worry
