By MATT GUTMAN and SENI TIENABESO | ABC News – 6 hrs ago

A medical report compiled by the family physician of accused Trayvon Martin murderer George Zimmerman and obtained exclusively by ABC News found that Zimmerman was diagnosed with a "closed fracture" of his nose, a pair of black eyes, two lacerations to the back of his head and a minor back injury the day after he fatally shot Martin during an alleged altercation.

Zimmerman faces a second degree murder charge for the Feb. 26 shooting that left the unarmed 17-year-old high school junior dead. Zimmerman has claimed self defense in what he described as a life and death struggle that Martin initiated by accosting him, punching him in the face, then repeatedly bashing his head into the pavement.

Also today, a trove of documents are being examined by lawyers for both the defense and prosecution as part of discovery in Zimmerman's trial -- including 67 CDs worth of documents, video of Martin on the night of the shooting, his autopsy report and videos of Zimmerman's questioning by police.

Zimmerman's three-page medical report is included in those documents that the defense could use as evidence.

The morning after the shooting, on Feb. 27, Zimmerman sought treatment at the offices of a general physician at a family practice near Sanford, Fla. The doctor notes Zimmerman sought an appointment to get legal clearance to return to work.

The record shows that Zimmerman also suffered bruising in the upper lip and cheek and lower back pain. The two lacerations on the back of his head, one of them nearly an inch long, the other about a quarter-inch long, were first revealed in photos obtained exclusively by ABC News last month.

But the report also shows Zimmerman declined hospitalization the night of the shooting, and then declined the advice of his doctor to make a follow-up appointment with an ear nose and throat doctor.

In addition to his physical injuries, Zimmerman complained of stress and "occasional nausea when thinking about the violence." But he was not diagnosed with a concussion. The doctor noted that it was "imperative" that Zimmerman "be seen with [sic] his psychologist for evaluation."

According to the report, prior to the shooting Zimmerman had been prescribed Adderall and Temazepam, medications that can cause side effects such as agitation and mood swings, but in fewer than 10 percent of patients.

A neighbor told ABC News that the day after the shooting he saw Zimmerman as he spoke to officers outside his home. He too recalled seeing black eyes and significant swelling -- as well as a bandage over his nose.

Moments after the shooting Zimmerman told eyewitnesses he shot Martin in self defense. He later told officers his head was being pounded into the pavement and that he feared for his life, but that it was only when Martin seemed to reach for the gun wedges in his waistband that Zimmerman drew his weapon and fired directly into Martin's chest -- killing him.

The medical notes may bolster Zimmerman's claim that he acted in self-defense because he was being attacked.

However, the prosecution contends that Zimmerman instigated the confrontation after profiling the teen, who was walking home after buying skittles and ice tea. They prosecution says Martin was breaking no laws and was not disturbing anyone as he walked back to his father's girlfriend's home.

Zimmerman was granted a $150,000 bail and has since been in deep hiding since his April 20 bail hearing.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

I will add to that report the result of Trayvon Martin Autopsy from the Global Grind site that is a very well known TM support site. The results from both records show clearly who was the man giving and who was the man receiving that night.

Hours after medical records for George Zimmerman were leaked, details of Trayvon Martin's autopsy have come out. According to the ABC affiliate in Orlando, Florida, autopsy results show that Trayvon Martin suffered a gunshot wound as well as open wounds to his knuckles. WFTV reports,

WFTV has confirmed that autopsy results show 17-year-old Trayvon Martin had injuries to his knuckles when he died.

The information could support George Zimmerman's claim that Martin beat him up before Zimmerman shot and killed him.

The autopsy results come as Zimmerman's attorney, Mark O’Mara continues to go over other evidence in the case.

O’Mara wouldn't comment on the autopsy evidence, but WFTV legal analyst Bill Sheaffer said it's better for the defense than it is for the prosecution.

WFTV has learned that the medical examiner found two injuries on Martin’s body: The fatal gunshot wound and broken skin on his knuckles.

I'm curious as to how the Prosecution thinks they are going to win this case. Usually I think if the prosecution is willing to bring someone to trial they have enough evidence to convict. Of course they went on trial with an iffy case against Casey Anthony, so obviously going to trial with a losing case isn't against their conditions. Seems a shame that tax payers will have to fund this though.

What do George Zimmerman's injuries prove?

He already told the 911 dispatcher that he was following Martin. How do we know that Martin wasn't the one defending himself? Since HE was the one that was unarmed, his fists were all he had.

I fail to see how any injuries Zimmerman suffered prove he didn't provoke the attack. Again, he was the one with the gun and the one doing the following.

Perhaps you missed the part where Zimmerman lost Martin and was heading back to his SUV?

Because some people want to believe Zimmerman justifiably shot an unarmed teenager holding a bag of Skittles and a bottle of iced tea after that teenager tried to get away from Zimmerman who was following him. These kind of people imagine a society where the Charles Bronson and Chuck Norris wannabes are the heroes and to hell with real law enforcement or civil rights.

Reports on Trayvon Martin and George Zimmerman don't answer one key question

The overriding goal of securing the arrest of George Zimmerman for the murder of Trayvon Martin was to get this strange case out of the court of public opinion and into a court of law. All of the conjecture and amateur sleuthing that consumed us for more than a month would give way to real police work and rules of evidence. Yesterday, we got our first look at the evidence that both the prosecution and the defense are examining during the discovery process. They fill in some of the holes in the picture from that rainy night on Feb. 26, but the story remains murky, particularly on one key question.

WFTV in Florida reported last night that the autopsy of Trayvon's body by the medical examiner revealed only two wounds: broken skin on the knuckles and the gunshot wound. As the station's legal analyst said, this could be a sign of Trayvon defending himself or trying to get away or it could bolster Zimmerman's claim of self-defense.

Matt Gutman of ABC News got his hands on the medical report filed by Zimmerman's physician. The neighborhood watch volunteer refused to go to the hospital the night he killed Trayvon, but sought medical attention the day after. According to Gutman, the report showed Zimmerman to have had two black eyes, two cuts on the back of his head, bruising in the upper lip and cheek, lower back pain and a "closed fracture" of his nose.

The report also notes that Zimmerman, who said his head was bashed repeatedly into the sidewalk, was not diagnosed with a concussion. He was also taking Adderall (prescribed for attention deficit disorder) and Temazepam (prescribed for insomnia). But we'll never know if this played a part in the tragic event because Sanford police didn't test Zimmerman for drugs or alcohol. They did one on Trayvon, though. He was clean.

The injuries reported would appear to support Zimmerman's story that he was defending himself against attack from Trayvon. That they were reported by a family physician and not the result of an independent exam taken at the crime scene gives me pause. Remember the video surveillance of Zimmerman arriving at the police station? Sure, a more enhanced version appeared to show the lacerations on the back of his head, but the lack of the appearance of blood on a man who reportedly had his nose broken and shot someone who was on top of him remains puzzling. And to those who would leap on the Zimmerman medical report to exonerate him, keep in mind that the prosecutor had this information and still charged the killer with second-degree murder.

Neither Zimmerman's medical report nor Trayvon's autopsy gets us any closer to resolution of the one question that matters. As ABC News legal analyst Dan Abrams put it last night, "Who was the aggressor?" Finding Zimmerman guilty (or not) of the murder charge rests on a jury answering this vital question.

Nope, I didn't. Does that excuse the fact that Zimmerman was following the kid in the first place? First in the car, then on foot. He wasn't doing *anything* that I've heard of, other than just walking down the street. What part of that is suspicious enough to follow?

Unless you're saying that Martin dragged Zimmerman from his truck to the crime scene, it is fairly obvious that Zimmerman has been following Martin. It is also undisputed that Martin was unarmed and that he carried the articles that Steven mentioned. So, nothing in the highlighted statement was made up. Not one thing.
