Saylin,

Is there any benefit in emailing US Embassy in beneficiary country to expedite or i guess fasten so that interview date can be assigned promptly? or is there just no hope or way to get this phase done quicker? hhmmmmmm

You can try. I have seen a few cases where contacting the embassy/consulate has worked.

One time i was calling for computer support and call went to international calling center,

the person said, hello my name is: "ALPHA OMEGA".

I said: "Sorry whats your name again". They said: "Alpha Omega"

wow not even trying there...

Wow, that's a pretty awesome name. Bet he was laughed at a lot during school headbonk.gif

Hi Everyone

So my husband has hired a lawyer to do the process for us, which I am ok with. I have been keeping an eye on the whole process but I think she is messing up now.... she is filing the DS 230 instead of the DS 260 Is this form going to be accepted or what???? Do NOT want to go all the way to Montreal to find out she messed up....help

That is NOT correct. You should be filling out the DS-260 online, and leaving the DS-230 out of the IV package. I would not trust another word from your lawyer if she is messing up on something as simple as that!!! Be very careful with her!!

If she sends the DS-230, you WILL get a checklist to fill out the DS-260 online.

It depends on if the lawyer is doing electronic processing with NVC or not. EP is optional for Montreal. Most do it because it's more efficient.

If she's snail mailing packages in, then she would use the DS-230. IF she's emailing, she's doing it wrong!

That is way wrong.

Everyone, please remember, electronic processing and online forms are TWO DIFFERENT processes.

Again:

Electronic Processing = emailing forms in

Online Forms = completing DS-261 an DS-260 online

For Montreal, electronic processing is still optional, so snail mailing packages are allowed. But online forms are REQUIRED. I'll repeat that, for Montreal, online forms (DS-260) are REQUIRED.

So whether you do EP or not at Montreal, you still HAVE to complete the online DS-260.

Case number received :dance::ot2:

Hmmm,by the time I am ready to book my flight, the prices will double up,of course... :diablo:

Well if I booked straight to Montreal last minute, I'm sure it would be expensive.

Of course this all depends on when our interview is!

I'm booking for May 15th. I'm going to get our SUV out of storage, drive it to Calgary and wait with hubby for our interview in Montreal. We'd then both fly round trip from Calgary.

I'm still going to Winnipeg on the 15th. No matter when our interview is, I've decided I'm not leaving Canada with out my husband!
