No movement on my EAD but this close to the interview I'm not that bothered.

Even if it was approved today I would probably only receive it a handful of days before the 10th, rendering it largely moot.

Do not worry you and I are in the same time line, I didn't received any news either but look like this week will be the one, the week before last one was people that file first week of April, last week was people that filed around 4/18 this week should be ours...

PS: Every time that I feel desperate I check your time line to be sure that you are in the same boat... :innocent:

Congrats to those who've been approved. And good luck to those with interviews in the next week...

I have a quick question: Do most of you have lawyers working with you on your case??? I'm just wondering if having a lawyer speeds up the process. Do you think that's possible? Many of you have received interview letters already, or had some form of contact from the USCIS. I have heard nothing since my biometrics. No RFEs. No NOAs. No emails or texts. I can't even access my case status online (I did sign up for this, but still cannot access it).

Well, I'm just having an "I can't stand the waiting" meltdown. Need to find a way to distract myself....

Ok, just try to relax, I do not used a Lawyer, I was concerned about it but them I realized that what they do is the same that I will do , If everything is clear in your file (no issues with the law of any kind) there is no reason why you need a lawyer.

Every case is different, K1 cases are a little more complicated and sometimes they get approved without interview, for what I read when that happen you usually wait long time 4- 6 months. I do not why but like I told you look like they classified every case and have a different priority with each one.

I do have a lawyer but she isn't local to me (since immigration is federal law then they can be anywhere). Since I'm in Texas and she is in Nebraska we do all of our communication via email. Since I had a non-standard AoS case (a few years of overstay plus I was filing as a self-petitioning widower) I decided her services were required, and she has been a great help. My emails are promptly replied to and she keeps me in the loop about everything regarding my case.

She has also offered to have a meeting on Skype or by phone before my interview to prep me for it. I might take her up on this, still not sure at the moment.

:( I'm sorry that you're filing as a self-petitioning widower.

Actually, in most of these straight forward cases having an attorney is likely to slow down the process since it is just one more point of contact. For example, attorney receives RFE on your behalf, a day later they contact you and tell you want you need or to call in and discuss it. You then go home, find the evidence and submit it to the attorney who then submits it to the USCIS.

Thank you, Chris. Good to know that we're all in the same boat, and sometimes you just have to be patient and let the USCIS work at it's own pace....

I-129F filed May 1996
