So, do you tip your waitress?!

I give 15% for bad service and go up from there. Breakfast waitresses always get $2 a head, no matter the bill. Generally I leave at least 20%.

Truthfully, I don't like doing it at all. Don't feel I should have to reward someone for not f*cking up my order. This is one reason I normally take the family to buffet places. If I need a napkin or steak sauce I can get it myself.

20-30% for good service

substantially less if it was bad service.

mess up the order more than once... lucky to get a tip

foul language gets a word to the manager.

Thanks for the insight...I would just like to say thank you very much to all of you tippers out there. As a whole, the generous people far outweigh the not so generous people. But for those of you who don't like to tip...I would like to ask you to please rethink your decision...Especially, if you have an attentive, kind waitress/waiter. For the record, I work at Olive Garden as a full-time server. This is my job. The restraunt pays me $2.13 an hour but I never (let me repeat) NEVER receive a dime of money from the restraunt. It all goes to pay taxes and insurance. Every Friday when they hand out checks, mine looks like this VOID VOID VOID VOID VOID VOID VOID. So, tips are not extra...they are our pay. I do my best for the guests that come in the restraunt. I stress out often because I try to give the best service to everybody but sometimes things happen in the kitchen that are beyond our control. So, if you happen to see that you have a very well-meaning waitress/waiter please tip her/him because if you don't .... essentially you are using them for an hour of service and stealing from them...b/c they are not "already" getting payed. thanks for letting me rant...have a great day!

15% is the service is really good, like she's very attentive, bring the menu on time, Water, gives you time to decide, always aware of what's happening to the table, very attentive, at time the waiter/waitress might be more than 15% if she really spoil you, sometimes you just find one that make you feel like royalty.

At time the service really sucks, so for years me and a few more people i know if the service is really bad we would put

A PENNY

as a message the service was sucks

Gone but not Forgotten!

I usually get flamed for this but I do not believe it is my responsibility to pay someone's wages unless they work for me. However we do tip most of the time. Outstanding service gets outstanding tips. Average service gets average tips. Crappy service gets crappy tips. A downright nasty attitude gets no tip.

We usually tip very well when we go to Outback :)
