As far as showing the proof of citizenship of the sponsor, a photocopy of the birth certificate is good enough, right? I mean they don't expect to send the original right?

07.24.09 Met in Mexico.

03.18.10 Began dating via internet.

07.10.10 Arrived in Mexico, 2nd trip.

12.16.10 Returned home to US. Last time I've seen him :(

12.20.10 I-129f sent to Dallas.

12.28.10 I-129f received.

05.07.11 Received hardcopy NOA2 in the mail.

Make sure you get the copy in colored and not black & white. If you can make a certified copy and send it that should also suffice.

Make sure you get the copy in colored and not black & white. If you can make a certified copy and send it that should also suffice.

A color copy is not necessary. Neither is a certified copy. They just need to see a copy of the document. I've sent black and white copies on two occasion and they were accepted.

Actually you know what, because of what you said, I just reread the certificate and it says "Any reproduction of this document is prohibited by statute. Do not accept unless on security paper with seal of the bureau of vital statistics clearly affixed."

This is from many states away, so can I just make a photocopy of the passport instead?

Yes black and white copy is not considered reproduction. BW copy is the best.

You can send a copy of it, or of the bio page from his passport.
