ehhh... I argued with my fiance.. This whole process bring the worst out of me.. I think about it 24/7.. Trying not to but I just can't... I know there are couples that haven't seen ther each other for a loooong time... But for each of us being apart is painful, either it is 5 months or a year.. When I think that we will not see each other for at least nother 3 months I'm just so depressed... The RFE cheered me up for a few hours only.. And I just pray to have the interview date ASAP, no after a few months after the approval...

I understand this all to good. My fiance is so much more relaxed and Im your typical virgo- over analyzing and thinking about everything in advance.

I know its only worse for me, but I cant help it. I really want to be there with my love before Xmass. I hope for the same for me- visa in my hands in two months from now, pretty pls.

Hah, I just told my fiance that and he said "We'll be having a long weekend in Canada." Haha. He was asking yesterday what the difference was between Canadian bacon (which you can sometimes find here) and American bacon. I told him I thought Canadian bacon was maybe more similar to British back bacon, but I couldn't remember the last time I've had it. Do you think it's similar? I seem to recall it being more 'hammy' than American bacon...

I've never had British bacon (at least not to my recollection... last time I was there, I was 18 years old LOL), but Canadian back bacon is definitely more hammy (and it's like, a slab rather than a strip). It usually has a pea-meal coating on it as well

This sounds all so familiar. We are upside down on our time zones too.. I call him before I go to sleep - my wake up call when he is waking up for work. We talk in his lunch break and then after work until he goes to sleep. I'm wanting to be there for Xmas too. 21 mths apart, we just live together online - I missed the music part of today's thread but we have lots of music we listen to together. We like all kinds of music and he sends me whatever suits the moment, often just to help me through... I must have listened to Lionel Richie's "Love will find a Way" a thousand times...lol.

Whatever works! (my motto)

I just keep thinking.. it's gotta be soon - and it will, for us all.

Mar 2011 - After 5mths denied for lost docs - Attempts to follow up failed. Mar 18 2012 - I-129F sent - No sign of NOA1 but they have banked the check...Jul 24 - Update - USCIS has located our file

My fiancé and I cant take the distance anymore. Im going to Zamia for ten days. We are sacrificing our honeymoon fund. It'll help with the next few months of waiting. Made it a year apart. This short visit will rejuvenate and calm us while we wait a few more months. For the first time in several long weeks, I feel stress free. Leaving next week. Woohoo!!

yes... sometimes its not so much fun living down here at the bottom of the world... flying and layover time between us is around 24hrs.. but I don't have sufficient ties here anymore and can't get a visa and he can't leave his work, dogs etc..just too complicated. If we'd known it would take so long we probably would have organised something, but who would have thought it would be such a long time apart. In theory it should happen soonish - I can only imagine the meeting at the airport when it finally happens.

I was just on the US Embassy website reading about the timelines for K-1 VISA's at our embassy in Skopje. Can I tell you that any excitement I had from receiving our NOA2 just exploded. :( Please someone tell me this is just some made up numbers:

*NVC performs a namecheck that requires a reply from the FBI. This namecheck is usually completed within ten days, but some cases take substantially longer.

*It takes four to six weeks for the actual approved petition and its supporting documentation to reach the Embassy.

*On average, the first available appointment (for interview) is about six to eight weeks from the time when the Embassy receives the petition.

ANOTHER 10-15 WEEKS!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME???!!!!! I know there isn't that many people in Macedonia trying to get to the US. What could possibly take so long?! This just can't be true....

I feel like I am back in March starting all over again. :(

Our Journey:

10/02/2011: Met while working in Afghanistan
10/15/2011: First "date"
01/03/2012: Hired an attorney to file our K-1
02/05/2012: He returned to Macedonia
02/29/2012: My first visit to Skopje
03/03/2012: Met my future family
03/15/2012: I-129F package mailed / returned to Afghanistan
03/19/2012: Received notification of arrival of I-129F
03/21/2012: NOA1 mailed
07/15/2012: 2nd trip to Skopje
09/20/2012: NOA2 notice
10/05/2012: Attorney Received Case number from NVC
10/25/2012: Received packet 3 ( the same time I left on my flight back to the US)
11/06/2012: Medical Scheduled
11/15/2012: Interview - Denied due to "lack of proof of relationship"
11/27/2012; 2nd Interview scheduled - APPROVED!

11/30/2012: POE NYC-JFK

You may have been turned back at POE anyway if you have insufficient ties ... that's the situation I'm stuck in, since I'm not working. I would have been if I'd known I would be waiting so long, but all along the wait, there hasn't really been any way of knowing how long I could commit to any available job. Just been delay after delay.
