ok, thanks Saylin and sheeshkabelle... guess i'll just have to be a little more patient then. I don't enjoy calling NVC everyday and getting a live operator who scolds me each time for not waiting up to 20 days! Very impressive spreadsheet btw, Saylin! :)

Just ignore those types of operators.

hi guys, anyone here had their NOA2 recently that can tell me how long until you got an NVC case number? I just found out NVC has my package from USCIS is in the mailroom. Curious how long it'll take for them to enter it in their system and generate a case number.

My NOA2 date is 03/21/12. I call and they told me they dont have my case yet. What did you asked them when you called? I hope mine isn't lost :blink:

No no, it's fine. If you look at my spreadsheet, NVC have got cases with NOA2 dates up to 3/16 assigned a case number. Yours should be assigned this coming week yes.gif

9/2/11 - Arrived in Chicago Lockbox

9/6/11 - NOA1 via text/email (rerouted to California Service Center)

9/9/11 - NOA1 Hardcopy in mail

9/9/11 - Check cashed .... and the wait Begin

2/10/12 - NOA2...no whammies, pleaase, email only, no txt

2/12/12 - mother in law past.... She was an angel

2/12/12 - NOA2 Hardcopy in mail

2/13/12 - NVC rec' case ! No expedite, but I worked a few nervIes...

NVC STAGE: .......days from case # to case complete

2/13/12: NVC received case (information only given on 02/13)

2/23/12: case number and IIN assigned - gave email info to operator

2/24/12 :Paid AOS fee and DS3032 sent by email (auto response received immediately)

2/27/12: AOS fee PAID on payment portal, Fee was withdrawn from Bank Account. So,is PAID :-)

2/27/12: mailed AOS (USPS Express mail) & was told the NVC accepted the Choice of Agent but havent heard or saw anything different

2/27/12: Choice of agent accepted

2/28/12: IV fee invoice received by email

2/28/12: Paid IV fee

2/29/12: IV fee PAID on payment portal

2/29/12: IV package sent

3/12/12: IV package reviewed and accepted. AOS package not Recv'd

3/14/12: Case complete!

4/06/12 : Interview Date Scheduled for 05/31/12!

4/09/12: Case file sent to Dakar

5/18/12: medical

5/31/12: interview , ap asking for joint sponsor

6/12/12: APPROVED!!!!

6/14/12 : pick up visa!!!

plz i need help....my visa is family based immmigration,,,,the nvc started sending me emails and asking for documents on 2011, i have sent all the papers needed on march 2012 and my case is complete,,,,,and i am waiting for scheduling an interview,,,,,i am confused because after surfing the internet i found out that scheduling an interview is related to the visa bulletin and they are now working on 2004 apps and mine in jan 2005,,,,so my question is, the visa bulletin is related 2 the beginning of the process which i started by sending the documents and i am only going to wait for weeks for the interview,,,,,,,,,or the visa bulttein is related to scheduling for an interview and i have to wait for probably a very long time????? plz i need your help

This thread in particular deals with CR/IR-1 (spousal) visa process at NVC. I'm not sure how the priority dates work for other family based visas. You may have better luck searching the link here --> Bringing Family Members to America

Like Sheeshka, I'm not familiar with Family Based Visas (as this is the IR-1/CR-1 thread), but yes, I do believe you have to wait for your priority date to be current before you're scheduled an interview.
