WOOHOOOO!

You all know what that means.

Dear Adjustment of Status Applicant:

Congratulations! Your application to adjust status has been approved.

A Permanent Resident Card ("PRC") will be mailed to you within 90 days.

We had our appointment in Los Angeles @ 300 N Los Angeles Street 6th floot Room 6001. Appointment time 0850. Our arrival time 0755. Put AOS Interview notice in tray at the window (as instructed). My wife was called at 0805. I was a nervous husband and told the Officer so. I said, "I only want to look after my wife". He laughed. I was over prepared to counter any requests for documentation. My wife's medical expired before we submitted AOS paperwork, but we had a new medical completed. I had lots of 'updated' information ready. I had photo albums which included our cat (our cat is family). I noticed my wife'd file had every original document from her K-1 to AOS. I never got a RFE once, but I sent in more documents necessary for her K-1 and AOS at original submissions.

I questioned about the name change that was not on the original documents. My wife has her real first, middle name, maiden, and my last name. We tried to get her middle name off the computer, but once it went in he could not change it. My wife can have this done in 3 years at citizenship time (if she so decides herself on citizenship). I told her this is her choice to make and I will support her either way.

Questions/Answers:

Q:Please raise your right hand and swear to what you are about to say is true, etc.......

A: me=yes my wife= ahhhhhh Da! Yes! (russian nerves)

Q: Do you have any kids?

A: No

Q: Is this your correct address?

A: Yes

Q: Is this your correct phone #?

A: Yes

Q: Are you working?

A: No

Q: Ever a member of the communist party or terrorist organisation?

A: No

Q: Ever been arrested in Ukriane or USA?

A: no

Q: Ever used illegal drugs?

A: no

Q: Ever been involved with prostitution?

A: No

We waited for the computer to accept whatever he entered, seen the big red APPROVAL stamp go in her file, and out popped our Congratulations Letter. We were not told about conditional status or removal of conditions. I guess we might get a letter about removing conditions when she gets her card in the mail. Maybe she will get a 10 year card? It doesn't matter, we are stoked either way.

We were done and walking back to the parking lot, I looked at my watch and it said 0820. It must have took 10-15 minutes for everything. We shook hands, said thank you, walked out the exit, and I felt like I scored a goal in soccer (I was pumped). I got a big hug and kiss from my wife. :D

I get to take my wife out on a date at an UPTOWN CAFE and order gourmet food with wine.....just because I am happy for her.

I sincerely wish everybody gets approved soon. This is such an interesting process. I hear so many variations of this visa process. It's out of our hands and the unknown is not easy to deal with...I know...we are good for now...

Congratulations to all those approved and those that will be approved....

The USCIS Officer never looked at my pile of updated paperwork I had in my laptop carry bag (found a good use for it) and he never asked for any 'updated' paperwork. I can't figure it out, but I we are extremely happy. If anybody has major procedure problems...I would recommend your local congressional representative. I have read some outrageous posts by some unlucky members here and it's absolutely crazy. I had to go to my congressional representative only one time in my life for a federal employment issue. The response was better than I ever imagined. Maybe I got lucky with my wife's interview, but I feel the same should be for all. Thank you everyone. Let's read more approval posts...it's nice to read the excitement.
