Does anybody have any idea how long it usually takes after mailing in response to RFE? It's been 4 weeks and still nothing. Maybe I'm just being overly anxious?

Hello everyone,

I called California Service Center this morning, and asked for level 2 help, it has been 309 days since I have applied for I 751, for my 10 year green card, and the officer told me that they are working on my case and I will receive an answer by the end of this month or the binning of next month, just to keep you up to date I have received an RFE 07/27/2012 and responded by 08/21/2012, and ever since have not heard any thing from USCIS.

I have tried calling them several times before but they told me that my case is under investigation, and they dont know when they would have an answer for me.

But today they were specific as to when I would get an answer.

Any one knows what I should expect to hear? good or bad news?

Any one else had similar citation?

Thank You

it drives me crasy how VSC take their time and slack as much as they won't when the fact that they don't know is: it is freaking nerve recking about it. All type of questions starts racing in your head and you start assuming did I send enough evidence? I hope that they work your files quick, I'm a september filer and I have a looooooooooooooooooong way.

I sent my RFE and it reached 12/24/2012...I guess from the other folks, it looks as though the RFE is taking much longer too. My wife's green card was issued in May 2010 so I am wondering if my N400 filing which is coming in March of 2013 will come first...It's just annoying to see it takes so long for them to get things that are clear cut. Also, the fact that you spend so much money in each of these forms.

Do you need to include copies of the 10 year green card to file the N-400?

I think you won't need it if you send them a copy of the expired green card and a copy of the extension (of course the new one because you are going to have to get a stamp from USCIS on your passport)

I was under the impression that it had to be a current green card. What if it's in the position where we are waiting for the results of the RFE? I know that if the USCIS isn't happy with the evidence sent in for the response then they have the local office schedule an interview. So we are sort of in limbo waiting now.

We will be submitting copies of the Greencard (expired in March 2012) and the NOA extension letter as part of our package. We will be writing up a brief 'letter' stating that we are currently in the I-751 process waiting for a repsonse to our additional evidence as outlined in the RFE for the I-751. I'm just waiting for DH to get a haircut and get the pictures we need to for the package.

Hope you hear something soon, And_Sam!
