operator was wrong, alas.

Wait until you have the AOS fee bill in yer email inbox,

then

call into NVC again, get a supervisor,

and ask for the casefile to be rehomed to Montreal.

Ask him/her what documents you need to provide to prove up Canadien residency, and then,

IF those docs are in the casefile already (in the I-130 packet) then tell the supervisor to request an eyeball review of the casefile, to find those documents for the re-homing.

If those docs are not in the casefile, the supervisor will tell you what to do, what docs are needed to be sent in, to get it re-homed.

IMO, waiting for the AOS Fee Bill in yer email inbox is important, is trigger that NVC is waiting on the petitioner for stuff. No AOS Fee Bill Yet? NVC is in dormant state, about the casefile.

Good Luck !

Thanks for your help everyone.

We got an email early this morning and it looks like they fixed their mistake asap AND enrolled us in EP?

However they forgot to change the "foreign state chargeability" from mainland china to canada. Shouldn't be a big deal right?

Dear Sir/Madam:

The National Visa Center (NVC) received your correspondence.

The U.S. Embassy/Consulate General processing the principal applicant's petition was changed to the U.S. Embassy/Consulate General listed below.

The correct case number is listed below.

This case is now enrolled in the Electronic Processing Program.

The additional email addresses submitted with the enrollment email were added to our records.

Please note that all forms and documents that we request and require in the future must be scanned copies of the originals. The applicant must present all original forms and documents to the consular officer at their visa interview. Failure to present the required originals at the visa interview will result in a denial or delay in obtaining a visa for the sponsored applicant.

In order to better process future inquiries, please be sure to identify yourself in each piece of correspondence sent to the NVC. If you are writing on behalf of a law office please include the law office name as well as the attorney of record's name.

This petition is now eligible for further processing. The petitioner, principal applicant, and/or attorney of record will receive an instruction package regarding further processing of this petition.

As this case is processing electronically, all forms and documents must be sent via email as scanned attachments to NVCElectronic@state.gov . Sending physical documents to the NVC will delay the processing of your case.

don't worry about the charge-a-bility bits. she's a chinese national, albeit with a residency card for canada.

You have a casefile starting with 'MTL', so it's been re-homed to Montreal.

Study up on Saylin's wiki entry on EP for Canada - it's a bit different than EP for China. There was another lass floating around dec/jan/feb in the exact same situation - but her uscitizen husband not speak much english, so it was her driving stuff into nvc, talking with nvc folksen. If I can find her id again, I'll post it in a subsequent msg.

Good Luck !

Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Ok, well, foreign state chargeability won't be changed as it means place of birth, just fancier words. But as long as the consulate was updated and you have a MTL case number, you're good to go.

And wow, big file blink.gif Definitely shrink it!

Yes I am only sending in a copy of the passport page.

Is it ok to send in this first or both applications together? I was thinking I wanted the signed copy of the w-7 we filled out for our 2011 taxes...Should I wait on it or just file everything. I have 2011, 2010, 2009 + 2008 all well over the required income level.

As to the question about sending them together or separately, please refer to post two in the March thread ;)

And don't worry about sending in 2011 tax information. The tax deadline is only April 17th; it's not technically required yet.
