My neighbor and his wife were tracking caribou today on their snow machines (snow mobiles for you), when he got this wolf. Two packs have crossed the river so far this year and now one of those packs is minus one wolf. :hehe:

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

Ya he's good size. A gal I know killed one in the back of her cabin last week that I thought was big, but not nearly as big as that one.

I been to Alaska before. 2 of them that size could drop a Moose. I did notice this Wolf looks well Feed. Not skinny.

One this size would have a human down in 5 seconds and they instickly go for the neck. Yummy!

A school teacher just south of here in Chignik Bay got ate up by wolves two winters ago. She was wearing a sony walkman while out jogging and never heard them coming...this was after she was warned. Some yuppie from back east fresh out of college.

Usually wolves will try to hamstring their prey first then then go for the throat...unless it's a dog..then they go straight for the throat. These wolves around here alot bigger than the ones I'm used to seeing down on the Kenai Peninsula.

3 Times the size than in Oregon/Washington.

They are Pack Hunters and work as a team. If theres one in front of you, look behind, to the side.

There objective is only Food.

Why I relate to this Topic so well and reply is:

I know what it's like to be attacked when I was a child. So I will tell you an actual fact/occurance that could have taken my life. Even so called Domesticated Pets can do the same thing. Pittbulls/German Sheppards/Mixed breeds.

I was about 5 years old. Our family was invited to dinner at my dads co-workers home. We were a family of 4 children and the owner of the home had 3 children about the same age as us. (4 to 7 years old).

So theres 7 Children in the neighbors backyard and the parents are watching us inside the house from a window. But, thinking everything is OK.

The Owner had a German Shepard/Wolf Mix dog that roomed free among us children. Everything seemed fine.

All I remember is the Dog came up to me. Did'nt growl at all. Then leaped on me. He quickly put me down and started at my lower back. Since all the kids were screaming the parents came running. By this time the dog was almost to my neck.

The dog was PULLED OFF and did not stop. I did nothing to provoke that attack. I was taken to Emergency. I remember I had a Yellow T-shirt Covered in Blood. The Owner of the Dog had 3 children himself and were shocked.

The wife of the Owner said: I seen that and you did too. What if it was your children and we were'nt here to save them.

My dad returned to their house after I was stitched and healing from what was a posible death.

The Owner said: I'm uncomfortable too. They went out with loaded rifle and shot the dog.

I never understood why it happened but today I know.

Good Post Why_Me.

OK now I'm feeling like I was taken. Gino from FB sent me that wolf photo last night saying Calvin Teresea whacked that wolf yesterday and Gino's not answering his PM this morning.

Lol- maybe the big bad wolf ate him! I thought I'd seen that photo before, but wasn't sure, but a google search brought it up.

You are right of course that wolves can be a danger to humans, as can other wildlife- I visited a friend once up in the wilderness in Washington State that kept a shotgun by his outdoor hottub due to bear attacks.

The fact remains: There out there. So a Cell phone won't help you when they decide your dinner. TO LATE. Nature is like that. We hunt meat and they have the right as well. Period....

Understand, you don't even have to dead before they start eating you alive. Just Down is all that matters. Death will come soon.

Take a large, almost round, rotating sphere about 8000 miles in diameter, surround it with a murky, viscous atmosphere of gases mixed with water vapor, tilt its axis so it wobbles back and forth with respect to a source of heat and light, freeze it at both ends and roast it in the middle, cover most of its surface with liquid that constantly feeds vapor into the atmosphere as the sphere tosses billions of gallons up and down to the rhythmic pulling of a captive satellite and the sun. Then try to predict the conditions of that atmosphere over a small area within a 5 mile radius for a period of one to five days in advance!
