Hi Everyone

ok so as you know our petition was denied at USCIS level. We are going the K1 Visa again through Vermont. So we are preparing a new petition. The issue for the denial will of course be rectified. When we sent the first packet we used a guide we purchased. The method of preparation isn't the reason for the denial but on here I read the guide and it doesn't say anything about the I-134 and all the financial papers. When did you (who were approved) supply that information, how many copies did you make and what all did you have notarized. This time we don't want to provide more documentation that we don't have to. hopefully get an approval quicker. Thinking of not front loading this time.

Please reply from experience in this matter.

ALways appreciated

Terri

Hi Terri,

Are you talking about the guide on VJ? Because the guide do talk about the I-134 form, it is needed after getting the NOA2, not for the petition. You need it for the interview.

http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide #4 on part "What to send to your fiance(e) once the I-129F is approved (Receive NOA2)"

Not sure if it answers part of your interrogations. :)

Hi Terri,

SO sorry you had to go through all of this BS. I know this time around will be easier and MUCH faster.

For Fresy's interview I sent (1) copy of the I-134 (NOT notarized), last 3 years of tax returns with W-2's, letter from my employer stating date of hire, position and annual salary and a few recent pay stubs. I sent this information via Fedex about 10 days before Fresy's interview - no problems at all.\

Wishing you the absolute best of luck.

Alan

We front loaded our petition because of the directions from our guide we bought and it said we had to send in all the financial information. So while trying to work through all the events that have happened in the last week I feel like a petition virgin again. So you are saying that ONLY the I-129F. G-325's with photos and proof of ongoing relationship get sent first????

Please could someone confirm this information here as we don't want to get RFE'd again for anything.

many thanks

Terri

More than only these forms. Just follow the complete "Assembling the I-129F Package: Checklist" here http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide and you guys will be perfectly fine.

The official rules from USCIS are here http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-129finstr.pdf , follow them too. The VJ checklist is like a summary and help about how to organize your petition.

These are the 2 best links you can find, to me. :)

WOW Then we are all set to go... We even have the I-134 stuff with supporting evidence. Glenn is going to get updated banking stuff as well, but it seems none of this needs to be worried over for several months. YEAH finally I feel some hope

Wow, 300 pages! Nothing was notarized for us on the petition. But I think I read we'll need to get notarized something for the I-134, like the letter from my fiance's employer. Again, that is after receiving NOA2, not at the I-129F petition stage.

Really, just send what is in the VJ checklist, try to organize it well, triple-check with the checklist and the USCIS instructions, and don't bother about the I-134 until later. :P

yeah we havent had anything notarised and we dont plan on doing either. i havent seen anything saying it had to be done either on VJ or in the I-129F instructions. we have followed the guide on here and tried to get answers to our questions from people with UK experience and so far it has worked for us.

300 pages?? i bet there was less than 30 in our I-129F lol

We just followed the instructions here on VJ. For the I-129F, we sent the following (copied from our cover letter):

Form G-1145

Check

Form I-129F

G-325A and passport style photo (Petitioner)

G-325A and passport style photo (Beneficiary)

Copies of:

Birth certificate/US Passport (Petitioner)

Divorce certificate (Petitioner)

Birth, marriage, and divorce certificate (Beneficiary)

Letter certifying intent to marry (Petitioner)

Letter certifying intent to marry (Beneficiary)

Proof of having met in person in the past two years (4 pictures)

That's it. No financials. Nothing notarized.

We've only just received the NOA2, so I can't say we're out of the woods yet, but at least the petition was approved with no RFEs.

Good luck!

Eep. You don't need to give them the I-134 until the interview.

I'm going to grab my original I-129F and copy exactly what we put inside:

Outline of Contents of the Packet

Form I-129F + Attached 1 paragraph on "How we Met"

G-325A (petitioner)

G-325A (beneficiary)

Photocopy of Petitioner's Birth Certificate

Letter of Intent (petitioner)

Letter of Intent (beneficiary)

Photocopies of All Boarding passes

Email from beneficiary with instructions to new address (I moved a few times during the time we were together)

About 20 pages worth of copies of: Cards/letters/little notes we hid for each other/Cards from his mom + sister to me/Receipts from trips we took together/Copy of receipt from our engagement ring

About 5 pictures of us together

And of course the payment. All in all it is about 30-40 pages.

Front-loading is not a "one size fits all" for EVERY consulate. For Canada, it's certainly not necessary (however, for others, such as Ecuador, it's crucial).

Notaries verify that SIGNATURES are authentic. It's unclear why everything else was "supposed" to be notarized.
