International dating is not for everyone. It is time consuming and expensive. And the rules are the rules. But it comes down to expectations. My wife and I knew we were not going to be together for awhile and we just made the best of it. Phone, skype and so forth. Just keep in mind that when these few (?) months of waiting are over, you will be with each other for a very long, long, time. Try to see the forest through the trees.

Yes it is heavy on the heart and soul but keep the faith. Love will prevail the process!

I see your time line and it seems that back then VSC use to proces the documents faster. Yes, you are right that long disctance relationships are not for everyone. It is been to long that we are not together thats why I got little nervous. And yes, we will be with each other soon and for a very long time, this is actually what keeps us going :)

Haha, Bjørn and I were just talking about this. It is true that long distance relationships aren't for everyone. I didn't think that I would be in a relationship like this, but we found someone that is worth the wait.

July 29, 2010 - Met online as penpals

September 15, 2010 - Began relationship

August 25th, 2011 - Met in person

September 20, 2011 - I-129F sent

September 26, 2011 - NOA1

February 13, 2012 - NOA2

June 18, 2012 - Interview - Approved!

I posted something similar to this a few months ago and now my fiance's interview is next week!! Time has FLOWN by! It is a painful process but it is worth it in the end. It has been 8 months but that, in hindsight, has felt like only a couple of months. If you can, try visiting each other to break up the time apart. That's what we did and it helped a lot!

Do you think there is a difference if you apply for K1 with a lawyer or without a lawyer? except the fact that the lawyer charges great amount of money

Nope.

I think what helps to keep me going is the fact that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Before, when we had visits, it was devestating to know that we could only see each other every few months. While that is still the case for us, the waiting that we're doing now is so that we can be together forever. Granted, I just filed, and I'm sure I'll be feeling the same way pretty soon :)

No ... in fact there have been several cases on VJ where the lawyer has made mistakes but they don't refund any money.

It is a stressful process - all you can do is get busy with other things and hope the time will at least feel as though it is going faster... :reading:

Best of luck with your journey.
