Please help me. I and my husband have to rewrite what I think are lovely "Personal Statements of Intentions".

Now we have to write a bit more of the Evolution of our relationship. My mind is thinking a million miles a minute. Good grief.

Did anyone write "the story of us" in your visa packets?

You may say WTH is she doing that for. Well trust me we need to paint the best picture possible. And like my lawyer says (which I am glad he confirmed what I knew to be right) the decision is already made before it gets to the embassy so we want them crying in their coffee for sure.

Any templates, blueprints would be helpful.

I think because I don't have my laptop which helps me think I am just having writers block.

I mean he didn't ask for a Pulitzer prize writing but well that's what my goal is darn it.

Chime in if you will.

I have just recently heard you guys talking about this 'Evolution of Relationship' letter. But for some reason, it is not listed in the I-130 guide. Why is that? If this is strongly encouraged/required in our packet, it should be in the guide manual. I wasn't even planning on putting it in my I-130 packet until I recently saw people mentioning it.

And by the way, did you put this letter in your intro section near the table of contents, or at the end with your other affidavits of bona fide relationship from family/friends?

Its not in the guide because its not something that's required. And really its all dependent on what embassy you will be at.

Since we are dealing with high fraud country we need to put our best foot forward.

My opinion is why not write your love story. Put it out there. How you meet, got engaged/ married and why you want him or her here.

And its right up front after the required stuff than affidavits after our letters than all the other 25 pieces of evidence.

Yes I know that. I am just stuck brain fog. I like know what I have to say just wanted to see examples to write it out right. As much as it WILL be from my heart I can be real wordy and don't want that.

We did not do one....but I am for our 2nd Interview in Lagos. Based on what my husband shared regarding the 1st interview, and that the CO did not even look at all the evidence he had with him--he said he didn't feel he had the opportunity to share Our Story. I don't even think the CO realized that we lived together as a family in Nigeria for the first two years of our marriage!

So, I am going to write it up in a timeline format to make it very clear and make reference notes to supporting documents my husband has to support Our Story. This is going to be the first document my husband presents when they ask for any piece of evidence....and have him politely explain that since his wife is not allowed to attend the interview that I wanted to share this with them. So, instead of a five-page short story they may not read, it's going to be more like a one or two page list of dates, "love" and list of supporting evidence to reference.

What they are looking for is a time line of the relationship starting pre "relationship" Brief and concise is what they are looking for. Too wordy and they won't understand/read it. It should be less than a page.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Most people don't realize the decision really has already been made before it arrives at CO. Imagine all the touches and reads and notes in your file. So many CO's don't even bother thats why I don't care what anyone says frontloading is the order of business. So I may have delayed this process. but so glad I didn't just submit without being fully loaded up.

Our I-130 has already been approved, but is it possible to add additional documents regarding our relationship, and submit to NVC? I did not include a letter in our I 130 just copies of joint bank statements, leases, letters from friends and family, and etc. Anyone have an example of what they submitted regarding their story?
