Today, I received my AOS interview appointment letter! I'm scheduled on 02/07/2012 so me and my husband have about a month and a couple of days to mentally prepare for it LOL. I already prepared the documents that we will possibly need and made extra copies of everything we submitted to USCIS. However, I'm afraid we dont have enough supporting evidence of our marriage. We only have a joint bank account that doesnt have much in it, joint credit card account, and pictures. No health or life insurance. I'm not under my husband's car insurance because I dont drive yet. Since we got married, we've been living with my husband's parents because they are pretty old and we're watching over them until his younger brother graduates from college and moves back in the house. All the utility bills, lease, and rent stuff are all under my father in law's name. My husband helps with the bills and rent but he just gives his parents money so there's no receipt or documents showing he's paying rent or bills. Is this bad? Are we in trouble?

Have the parents write a letter stating that you guys help pay the bills and live with them while looking after them.

WOW you and I have pretty much the same story!!!!! Only that we don't even have joint bank accounts because he's a full time student :/ I received my interview appointment letter yesterday and I've been nervous ever since then, hopefully it won't be a problem... crossing fingers!!!

Since this is for your conditional green card, it most likely won't be that intense of an interview. That will probably come at the ROC stage. We had very little evidence as well other than the certified copy of marriage certificate and some wedding pics.

They'll ask a few general questions that any real married couple would know anyway so I wouldn't worry too much. Just take what you can.

Good luck.

You have more than we did. The only thing joint was a tax return and a car title. The IO asked only the questions on the form like name, name of your father, have your ever..., and we were done. No pictures just another copy of the marriage certificate. You should be fine.

Good luck on the next step,

Dave

ohkay! I am already nervous. I haven't received an interview letter yet but I am already preparing the evidence. So, this is what we have:

-Pictures

-Joint Bank Account

-Flight Itineries (We lived in 2 different states so we flew back and forth to see each other)

-Signed Affidavits from parents and sponsors

-2 Utility Bills

-Life Insurance

-Cards that we sent to each other (birthdays, valentine etc.)

-Emails as well (Cos it was a long distance relationship)

Also, we sent a bill, joint bank account statements and pictures along with the application packet

Hi guys

Ithink i'm in the right forum to post my questions and i hope you can help with the answeres. My son is in the USA on B2 tourist visa and overstayed, and he is planing to marry his girlfriend who is a citizen but we heard that they might send him in our coutry to wait for his green card.Is that true because he is a student there also has a good job doesn't make sense to return him home.We are also waiting for our family F4 visa to become available our case is completed and closed just for VB to become current. So if he marry her can he adjust status there without returning home?I'm so worry about this please any advice from you would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Being a student doesn't stop someone from having a bank account. They may not buy that story.
