To cross-check your identity.

You will get finger printed many times- at interview, POE, naturalisation... they can check you're the same person.

Finger Print is an authorization to ensure that you have requested for your PCC. It is more like a real digital sign. Of course, all these records would be cross check the validity of PCC. Like whether is real or fake one.

It is just like when you call your credit card company, when you ask for any sensitive info, then they may require maiden name, etc etc info.

Asked and answered, to verify your identity and to ensure that in the future, you are the same person. It doesn't really have anything to do with criminal backgrounds.

I do not have a criminal background but have been fingerprinted many times.

Good luck

where did you bring your police certificate TO ?

regardless, finger print intake occurs along the way, from the visa application intake process at the US Embassy IV unit, then again at the Point of Entry, then again when you change your status in the USA.

So, since it's really easy - just follow the instructions of the Human doing the finger print intake.

What's your concern?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.
