I'm slowly gathering up my stuff for my green card package, but one thing I still don't understand is that one item that I need to prove I took my medical less than a year ago, could someone explain that to me, more so than the guide already has?

Have uu been to a civil surgeon for examination yet? If so, the sealed envelope that she/he gave u is only valid for a year ... had u not sent it off within a year, ud have to go and have another medical examination done

Then u don't have anything to worry about, just send it as it is, they will see when they get it that it's valid.

This isn't exactly true. While the MEDICAL is valid, the shots might not be. If they are missing any shots they need to see a CS to get the missing shots and get the shots transcribed into the I-693.

You don't really need to send anything but most people send a copy of the DS-3025 (I did). If your shots are up to date just send a copy of the DS-3025 and you'll be fine.

if the civil surgeon already signed and sealed the form, that means that everything is valid for a year... why would they do so if the shots aren't up to date?

Okay you seem to be a little confused.

For K1's we have a medical in our home country that is completed by a "panel physician" (not the same as a civil surgeon ("cs") which is in the US). We complete a medical including blood work and a physical but immunisations are not required for a K1 so they might not be up to date. Mexico for example doesn't give any shots (or the DS-3025 that the shots should be listed on). The UK doesn't have the varicella shot. So unless you have varicella history that shot would be missing as well.

Once the K1 comes to the US they apply for AOS. AOS requires a medical check as well BUT K1's are able to use their K1 medical because it's valid for a year. That does NOT mean however that their shots would have been completed. If the shots were not completed then they need to see a CS to find out what they're missing, get any missing shots (at any doctor is fine), and then see the CS to have the shots transcribed into the I-693.

If the OP has seen a CS in the US then it should be fine and up to date. The OP hasn't stated they HAVE seen a CS. You asked them if they did and they said "their exam is good till June". Given their timeline says they arrived in the US in July 2011 that means June of next year is when their medical expires (couldn't have seen a CS before they came to the US so it had to have been a panel physician). They are referring to the K1 medical, NOT a visit to the CS here in the US.

Yeah, my exam is good till june

You are referring to your K1 medical yes? That isn't a civil surgeon, that's a panel physician. As i said, the medical is fine but you need to determine if your shots are complete. If they're not you need to see a CS. This doesn't mean the DS-3025 has to say "complete", you just need to not be missing shots.
