Our NOA2 expires on January 1, 2012 and her passport is still being processed and has not arrived yet. We cannot even make an appointment for an interview without the passport number. Any suggestions on what to do?

Thanks everyone.

The case is automatically extended by the US embassy. You have already had the interview, the NOA2 means nothing. You are worrying over nothing.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

Thanks for the reply but we have not had the interview yet. We cannot even make the appointment for the interview because her passport is still on the way.

yes we did. We love each other too much. I am still worried about having enough money though :(

So you've decided not to delay the process? I am glad you were able to work things out and come to a compromise.

Best of luck.

I have emailed them before and they responded but were not clear on if the validity was extended of not. When I call them, they won't even talk to me without her passport number. I don't know what to do.

No problem. Email the Embassy and ask them to extend the validity of your petition.

So what did you do?

Same thing happened to us. Don't worry about it.

hi this is what had happened to me when iam processing my k1 petition. Is it you first time to apply for passport? This is what you have to do, go to the dfa office where you applied for passport then get a certification from their office, tell them that you need your passport right away bcoz of your petition from us embassy. Then after giving you the certification, carry that and go to dfa manila office and show your certification.Dfa manila wont let you in unless you have the certification given by the dfa office where you applied thats why make sure get a cert ok?after that i think in just 3 to 5 days they will issue you the passport. while you are at dfa manila just follow their instruction just be patient

So what did you do?

I called DOS and emailed the embassy and informed both that the approval was about to expire and they had not scheduled an interview yet. The scheduling process is different in Guangzhou. DOS explained that the approval may expire but since the case was still open and active there was nothing that needed to be done. If your case has been delayed for some other reason you may want to call DOS and talk to a specialist.

Very glad you were able to work through everything. You guys will find ways to make the needed financial sacrifices and she will be able to work eventually.

The emotional support you will be able to provide each other will go a long way. :)

No problem. Email the Embassy and ask them to extend the validity of your petition.

Agreed . And this is what you will get: A Automated e-mail from them stating extentions are usually granted if the 2 following are true:

1. Are you Free to Marry.

2. Are you going to Marry within 90 days of his/her arrival.

So, I suggest: Pay the Visa Fee at BPI if you have'nt already.

I hate the US Embassy. I think they all read from scripts. I called to ask them what to do since our application is expiring on Jan 1, and we still are waiting for the passport number, and in order for them to tell me what to do, they NEED the passport number. We have not had the interview, and we cannot schedule and interview until we get the passport number. I am at wits end and I just don't know what to do. I will try to email them tomorrow and call the DOS.

I called the DOS and spoke to a visa specialist. When I first explained to her the issue, she said that I didn't need to worry about it and the petition can be revalidated at the interview. However, after she looked into the file, she said that once it expires, it expires, unless we schedule the interview before the expiration date. I do not know which is correct now.

I called DOS and emailed the embassy and informed both that the approval was about to expire and they had not scheduled an interview yet. The scheduling process is different in Guangzhou.
