SOOO IM ABOUT TO SEND IN MY PACKET..AND LET THE JOURNEY BEGIN.

BUT I JUST FOUND OUT THAT MY FIANCE WHO IS IN MEXICO HAS TO HAVE A PASSPORT ???

IS THAT TRUE?

DONT PASSPORTS TAKE FOREVERRRRRR TO GET IN MEXICO? =[

LONGER THEN THE K1 PROCESS..

IF THIS IS TRUE ITS TERRIBLE DISCOURAGING NEWS :/

Of course he will need a passport, when the Visa is issued it is put into his passport. Perhaps he had better apply right away? Maybe by the time the interview rolls around it will have received it?

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

ALL beneficiaries intending on immigrating NEED a passport with at least 6 months of validity remaining.

Just as YOU can't travel out of country without a passport, same goes for a Mexican citizen.

he is about to embark on an international trip so he NEEDS a passport( that is how he will get cleared at the airport since that is where his visa will be stamped). If it takes that long to get one in Mexico then the wise thing to do is for him to apply now so that it will be ready when needed.

Yes it is required. I suggest you read through ALL the instrcutions for the entire process as there are some things you will need to prepare for. The visa is the beginning, it is not the end.

The visa gets stamped in his PASSPORT. No Passport, no visa.

Its actually pretty easy and quick to get a pasaport in mexico as long as you have all your proper paperwork like original or certified copy of your birth certificate etc. Im pretty sure you can make an appointment my wifes was about two weeks out and certain places you can get your pasaport the same day.

Yes, you need a passport. If they issue you a visa, it is placed in your passport. Why do you think getting a passport in Mexico takes that long? You call and make an appointment, show up at your appointment with all the paperwork you will need(ask them exactly what is required to bring) and get it in 1 day.

IT DOES NOT TAKE LONG AT ALL!!!! do not worry about this! my fiance needed to get one too. You can call or go and ask what documents are needed (birth certificate, CURP etc). He signed some papers, took a picture, went back ( i think) less than a week later, and got the passport. You have to pay (obviously), and you can choose whether you want it to be valid for ten, 5 or 3 years ( i think those were the choices)..

But yeah, it's not a big deal at all.
