My husband had his interview today. His visa was approved pending one item that he needs to take to the Embassy. Apparently they don’t accept the marriage certificate from the Notary even though it was certified by all the proper government agencies. They told him he needed one from his local township. He got that this afternoon, had it translated and will take it to the Embassy tomorrow. He will be able to pick up his visa 1-2 days after that.

Questions asked during his interview:

My name

My age

Names of my parents

Names of my brother and sisters

What I do for work

What work I did in the past

Where do I live and how long have I lived there

Did I live in another town before that

What work did he do when he lived in Italy

Has he ever lived any other places besides Italy and Tunisia

When and how we met

How long have we known each other

When did we get married

How much time did we spend together

Where was he living when he asked me to marry him

Why did we decide to get married on our first meeting

Why didn’t I come to visit him more than just once

The CO asked if he had any photos of us together. My husband gave him the only 6 photos we have. He looked at each one and that was it. My husband had over 200 pages of chats, all of our phone bills and various other evidence of our ongoing relationship but none of it was asked for. After the interview my husband asked him what he should tell his wife about the interview. The CO told him to tell me that it was approved.

I should be excited and doing lots of happy dances but I’m cautious and will reserve that for tomorrow when he gives them the marriage certificate and they “officially” tell him that he is approved. :)
