Right now many half breeds are being made because Thailand and the Philippines are thriving sex trades. Cambodia is the next up and coming sex market.

Why are you so up to date on current trends in sex trade vacations.

Just using it in this discussion only. Mean no harm. Will use mixed from now on unless you have a better term to suit your sensitivities.

So if people started referring to you as milquetoast, that wouldn't be a pejorative, just you being overly sensitive?

It's just as accurate a statement as "the only reason they are hired is because they are being exploited, slave labor, making pennies on the dollar" as you and Gary seem to think. rofl.gif

True in the berry picking industry. Not so much in housekeeping/landscaping (where they tend to run their own business). Not so true in the restaurant industry either.

So then they're taking high paying jobs away from Americans and legal workers?

Well hell, that makes it ok, then!

Technically and culturally, that is how they are called in Asia. Many countries in Asia express "racial purity" more than you can imagine. I am Asian descent myself so I know

That's cool. I barely even know where Asia is. When I hear the word I have visions of snake charming monks eating lo mein.

Please cry me a river. The problem goes way back before the Spanish-American war. There has always been camp followers since the beginning of recorded time. The first thing the natives do when we opened a camp is to open a ####### bar and usually followed by more of the same and then usually food places and then tailors to make clothing and then the trinket sellers. They all are there to try and separate the GI from his money. Most of the places in Asia though we have allies that are with us and they are from all over.

Right now many half breeds are being made because Thailand and the Philippines are thriving sex trades. Cambodia is the next up and coming sex market.

If the US government didn't send the troops, would it even exist? For most part, a lot of them are due to military intervention. And like it or not, with US military bases still situated in Korea and Japan, the situation will continue.

Interestingly, in Subic and Clark, the US military allowed them sailors, marines and airmen to "live in" with their "local girlfriends".

On one history class, we happen to had a Vietnam Vet who mentioned about the military "bringing in" the local whores into the bases. So there you go. Military-sponsored prostitution. Wait, isn't that human trafficking/slavery?

So, is the politico-military factor not responsible/blameless?

On the macro level, that is where the problem starts.

Here's a compromise I could live with:

If the kids want legal status, LPR with a path to citizenship only, with the following conditions:

  1. The parents must voluntarily depart the US prior to the child's USCIS application.
  2. Proof of the parent's departure must be included with the application. This proof would be documented departure by CBP at their point of exit.
  3. If the parents are ever caught in the US Illegally then the children's status would immediately be revoked.
  4. The parents receive a lifetime entry ban.
  5. The Application Fee should include a fine on top of all of the normal fees those of us working the system legally have to pay.

This would allow the innocent children at path to LPR/Citizenship but also punish the parents for their illegal activities.

If the parents really are concerned only for the betterment of their kids then this shouldn't be a problem.

I am sure current administration would not approve of this...... they could loose 100s and 1000s of the votes....:)

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."
