So here I am again. Was almost ready to send my AOS package, when I noticed that my Joint Sponsors US passport expired 4 month ago! NOOOOOOOOO! What do I do now. Of cause she will apply for passport renewal, but currently it will take 4-6 weeks!. I can't believe it. And there is no way to to expedite 'cause there is no international flight itinerary.

So my question is: will I-864 be accepted with expired passport page? I mean, all they need is a proof of citizenship, clearly she is a citizen since she has US passport, no? She doesn't have a naturalization certificate, she was brought in US as a child and gained US citizenship through parents. So , on passport sais "Birth Place" -Belarus. So there is no Us birth certificate.

WHAT DO I DO????

I would think the expired passport page would still be alright as proof since she wouldn't have been able to get a passport in the first place without being a US citizen...

I agree, I think for this purpose an expired passport should be ok. At worst, you'll get an RFE for the new passport, which she will have by the time you get the RFE and the delay should be less than waiting for the new passport now.

I would send the packet with expired passport and wait for RFE , but i' m afraid that i will get RFE and won't be able to reply in the timeframe they give. Like i said it will take 4-6 weeks and it's not up to me, my girlfriend-sponsor is a very busy person and will take some time. I dont want them to deny my case because of expired passport.

Yes they will. But they are not called the miss-information line for nothing....

•Anyone may request expedited service for any type of application (e.g., first-time applications, renewals, amendments of existing passports, etc.) It now takes 2-3 weeks to expedite. It is extra $60 + overnight fees. Does your wife know you have a girlfriend? You have 86 days to reply to an RFE. That should be ample time. As this is important you should apply for the passport ASAP. "Busy" is not an excuse when it can get you denied/deported (though that risk is small, it's still there).

REAlly? i was on travel.state.gov and did not find that info. can anybody confirm that you we don't need any travel intent in order to get an expedite service?

this way would be perfect : $60 extra and done in 2-3 weeks .

I renewed my passport by mail without a rush and got it in ten days. I too am a citizen via parents. I'd send in a copy of the expired passport along with a copy of the application for passport renewal. Sounds like the USP is your only citizenship document, same as mine, so keep it current and safe.
