Facebook is bad. I have been telling you guys this for years. I am the only person in the world who is not on Facebook.

Yes, it is bad but it's hard to pull away from it. I really want to delete it but it's hard to keep in touch with relatives all over the world. Ugh.

No, you are not.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

I think it's fine for keeping in touch with family. What I think is strange is looking up people you went to school with 20 years ago to see how they are doing now. These are the same people you hated when you were in school and now 2 decades with no contact you want to be their friend?? A psychiatrist would have a field day with that one.

I know and keeping in touch with family is what prevents me from deleting the account. But just like you're saying, I get requests from people that I know who they are but I don't really talk to. At first I was accepting them, but now I've decided not to and I've deleted quite a few, as well. I also started to delete most of my pictures, I just feel our information is out there in a silver platter to whoever wants it. I feel like FB is starting to make everything so confusing so we don't even know what we're doing anymore. They change the settings whenever they want to and I'm really paranoid about having anything set on "Public". I just found out all of my 'Notes' were Public and I deleted all of them.

This is the worst! I have my privacy settings set to the highest setting, but it still doesn't prevent anyone from being able to see photos of me that my friends/father post. They just can't view them through my profile.

Yes. It seems that no matter what you do, your information isn't 100% private. Just today I was reading on the Wall Street Journal that now we might face a flood of ads from companies if Zuckerberg decides to give them unfiltered access to our information.

If your father has an album with baby pics of you, there's nothing stopping him from showing those to guests either. You have never had control over things that weren't under your ownership, why would it be any different in Facebook?
