I have exclusively digital photos with no dates (can't stand them messing up a picture) - in various recommendations I've seen most mention of having the photos printed and putting the info on the back. Sure I've done that. However, what's wrong with color laser printing them, say 2 to a sheet, captioning each photo with who, when and where? On my color laser it looks like a color copy you get at the local office supply store. That way the pics are not loose, but organized and part of the package fastened together.

thoughts?

I guess it's whatever floats your boat. Just be sure to have the dates of when the pictures were taken somewhere on there. I particularly like the loose option and writing the date on the back. I would figure it looked a little more authentic that way. I was lucky enough to discover VJ before I visited my fiancee and took time stamped photos. Pictures are secondary evidence. Make sure you have strong primary stuff. LoL

Mine were digital also, I had them reprinted at Longs for 19 cents a print and just wrote on the back who where when. You should look at the USCIS website under "general guide to assembling package" I believe they address how they like things labeled and assembled. Good luck.

Hola again Bruce,

I think I can safely say I'm part of that ####### retentive club whom dissect every aspect of this with as much precision as possible. Not that it means I'm any more qualified to answer questions! This is just what I did...

A LOT of people don't have time stamped photos, including me. Mine were all digital and unstamped, but I had read in a few places it's best to get them printed from an actual copy shop instead of a home printer, not EXACTLY sure why but that's what I did. I took them into Kinkos on CD, got them printed, and labeled the backs myself. Who's in the pictures, location it was taken, and the date.

I carefully chose pictures from certain dates to correspond with the ticket stub/passport stamp/itinerary copies I submitted.

I labeled all the pics, put them in a plastic baggie, labeled the baggie as to how many photos were included and that they were pictures of us. I affixed the baggie to a standard sized piece of paper and put it in the packet.

I tried to follow instructions to the letter, but really, it seems they can request an RFE for just about anything, you never know. Just follow instructions as well as you can and try not to worry too much. If you've got clear photos and you clearly label them, you should be good.

And again, with all the concern about the factual correctness of replies, this is just an opinion and an example of what I personally did. :) GOOD LUCK!

Hi Bruce,

I asked this same question when we were organizing our package. What was recommended to me was this ... though this would make sense to you and me and most other people here, you have to assume that the person examining your petition needs to be spoon fed, and as such, will not see multiple pictures printed on letter size paper as fitting their criteria. Wanting to play it safe as much as possible, I simply got prints made from K-mart (honestly though - they would have looked better had I printed them at home ). Part of the 'evidence' portion of our petition was a list of every photo included. The list was numbered, dated and included brief descriptions which tied in to our answer for Q.18. Then we numbered, dated and titled the back of each photo, put all the photos into a labelled ziplock bag and, of course, attached the bag to a blank page. It was the last page of the entire packet.

Just walk the person /reader through your packet and evidence, and as Andy said, make sure to include some primary evidence which ideally, should tie in to your photos.

Good luck!

Hi Mo,

Yeah I agree about thinking through their eyes, grrr. So after printing all - I also have a backup of CVS printed prints for individual pictures. Now how did you list them, where? Oh, a separate sheet listing them out? I like the numbering idea!

That is exactly what I did, printed from digital, which is all I use anyway. My program prints up the details of when the photo's were taken as a caption below. I filed them two to a page, a few pages worth. Should not present any problem for you at all!

I printed my photos 4 to a letter sized or A4 page. But I made sure all 4 photos were of the SAME place or trip we were together. So that way I could just write one explanation and date for the 4 photos. ALso I made sure I had receipts of the resort/hotel/restaurant/trip to correspond with the pictures. They have dates in them. I was also using my credit card a lot so I get a receipt with my name on it and a date and name of place.

The way I put my evidence together is a bit different so I hope it works. I had a cover page for each set of evidence/event (trip, dinner out, party, resort, etc.) Cover page example says: "Trip to Beijing". It has the date of the trip, a little explanation if needed (ex. meet her parents) and bullet points of what is in the set ex. Plane tickets, boarding pass, hotel receipts, restaurant receipts, shopping receipt, etc. Then I had copies of these receipts made fitting as much in letter size paper. Then had the 4 in one photo page all clipped together. So I didn't have all photos grouped together, rather I had all evidences grouped by event. All of the pages are same size to make filing easier. I think that's spoon feeding them enough.

All you should need to do is print the pictures, write the date and a short description on the back in pencil, and put them in they're own little envelope, or some use a zip lock back.

I personally wouldn't attach them to a piece of paper etc. In the directions, they ask that they be put in a seperate envelope

If you could, get as much dated pictures as you can.

You only need evidence that you've MET in person within the last 2 years. You do not have to prove evidence of relationship. Save the wheelbarrow full of photos for the interview.
