Based on petitions ahead of us, it seems that we now have two months at NVC and an embassy interview 6 weeks after that.

Ok thanks, I'll have my wife print the DS-3032, and have her scan and send the form to NVC, anyway we are still waiting for the case number, I am just trying to get all the paperworks ready.

No, read that link in my previous post. Your wife can email the DS-3032 without needing to print and scan any forms. Additionally, since electronic processing at the NVC is not available for the Philippines, it is unlikely that a scanned form would be accepted.

OK got ya, thanks for the info's. I will call NVC 10 days from now to verify if there is already a case number assigned.

Congratulations! As I reported earlier we are in the same boat except I do not know how to opt for electronic processing. I had the impression that electronic processing was limited to just a few isolated cases such as Kabul, Afghanistan. Your spouse is from Cananda, so I am confused how you can elect to do electonic processing.

I am the beneficiary. My case will be sent to Montreal for the interview so I can use EP. Saylin made a guide for Montreal NVC beneficiaries that shows the e-mail you need to send to opt in. I'm on mobile right now so I can't post it, but a quick search should turn it up so you can get an idea.

There is a list of consulates which accept EP. Check it out, you can see if you are eligible or not.

After watching lots of applications filed after mine get approved, I broke down and called my senators and congressman. Weirdly though, I got an email from my congressman today saying that he called the service center and was told that our I-130 application was approved yesterday. However... the website still says we're in initial review.

I called USCIS about this discrepancy, and they had no idea what was going on. A woman at USCIS told me the following things through the course of the phone call:

1. It hasn't been approved.

2. Maybe it's been approved, but it takes a while (up to a month?!) to enter it into the computer system.

3. Our service request was cancelled yesterday, indicating possible approval.

4. It's on its way to NVC, so that means it must have been approved.

I have no idea how to feel about any of this. Any ideas?

Electronic processing is not available for Russia, you can't opt for it.

There is a list of consulates which accept EP. Check it out, you can see if you are eligible or not.

EP is only available for these countries:

• China (optional)
  
• Canada (optional)
  
• Mexico (required if first 3 letters of case number are MEP)
  
• Turkmenistan (required)
  
• Syria (required) [all operations at Embassy in Damascus currently suspended]
  
• Afghanistan (required)
  
• Yemen (required)
